10 employees who took pranking their co-workers to a whole new hilarious level

Who doesn’t love a coworker prank? Ever since “The Office” first aired on American television, we fell in love with the prank wars between Jim and Dwight.

“He put my stapler in Jell-O again!” Rainn Wilson yelled in the very first episode.

But let’s face it, office pranks have been around a lot longer than “The Office.” With a lot of downtime, work environments are sometimes boring. When you’re stuck in a cubicle with a bunch of other people, what else is there to do but to bring on the pranks?

Of course, since we can’t help but homage “The Office” again, remember this Dwight quote for your pranking.

“Whenever I’m about to do something, I think, ‘Would an idiot do that?’ And if they would, then I do not do that thing.”

If you have a coworker who gets a lot of phone calls, grab a packet of rubber bands.

Wrap as many of them as you can around the phone and receiver. Essentially, make it as difficult to get to as possible. Then sit back and let the line ring.

Or you could turn to your old friend – the zip-tie.

Zip-ties are basically impossible to fight — unless you cut them, of course. But how are you going to cut them if they’re around your scissors?

The best pranks are the ones that don’t hurt anybody but instead confuse the heck out of them.

Choose a coworker that has a specific desk arrangement or lots of photos. Get to work, but keep it subtle. Then enjoy watching them lose their minds.

You don’t have to be all that tech-savvy to do this prank.

All you have to do is change a coworker’s autocorrect settings on a word document so that every time they type a common phrase, it automatically changes it to something silly. Yes, it’s juvenile and no, we don’t care.

We all have a coworker — or worse, a boss — who’s just a little self-obsessed.

If you’re dying to dig them about it, decorate their office with pictures of their favorite person: themselves.

This one is pretty much self-explanatory.

When the office kitchen has a new appliance, just put this label on it. Then enjoy the confusion, because there will be a lot of it. Make sure you find a good seat close by.

Most people who work in an office enjoy putting pictures of loved ones on their desks.

It’s a good reminder to get them through the hard days. If one of your coworkers has a lot of family photos, add some googly eyes or other temporary modifications. Then wait to see how long it takes for them to notice. Be sure you choose a coworker who’ll laugh instead of getting upset.

Then there’s the classic “airhorn-under-the-office-chair” prank.

But you don’t want to give anyone a heart attack. A funnier (and more fragrant) alternative is to zip-tie a can of air freshener under their chair. When they sit down, they’ll activate the nozzle for an aromatic explosion.

There are a lot of opportunities with family photos on desks.

You don’t want to offend anyone, it’s a good idea to choose a coworker who’ll find your prank funny. Replacing all their cute family photos with something silly can be hilarious. The goal is to see how long it takes them to notice.

Who doesn’t love a high-tech prank?

If your coworkers use wireless mice, it’s pretty easy to hack into them. Then watch them go crazy while trying to make their mouse do what they want.
