Some people are lucky enough to go through their formative years with a beloved pet by their side. These young adults experienced this. And they have so many happy memories.

Everyone knows that the teenage years are tough. All of the fun and innocence of childhood slips away. Then come responsibilities, harder classes and the impending pressures of adulthood.

Kids need all the help they can get when they’re teenagers. And pets can provide support in ways that no human can.

All of the people below were lucky to have loyal, loving pets by their sides as they matured and aged:

1. Same spot, 10 years later

It’s hard to believe that that’s the same person.

2. In 14 years, the cat is just as grumpy

And the lady is just as sleepy.

3. She’s not too big to be held like a little puppy

Her name is Connie. In the second picture, she’s nine-years-old.

4. They’ve been through so much over the last 17 years

If only she could still share the basket with her.

5. They were best friends for 20 years

The cat passed away in 2019. But at least she had a long and happy life.

6. His parents didn’t get a new couch in 16 years!?

To be fair, that’s the kind of pattern that never goes out of style…

7. The dog’s name is Dodger, and he’s almost at voting age in the second photo

Dodger’s political affiliations are unknown.

8. They’re saying hi for the first time and goodbye for the last time

At least they had 15 years of adventures together.

9. Her fashion tastes haven’t changed in 16 years.

Somehow, the dog has only gotten cuter.

10. Another 20 year old cat

And she’s still going!

If only all pets could live such long and happy lives. All 10 of these animals are so lucky to have grown up with caring kids.
