Over 100 excited cows run around when they leave the barn for the first time in 6 months
If you’re feeling bummed lately, know that you’re not alone.
Everybody’s been cooped up indoors for over a year now, and it can get a little lonely and depressing. But this video we feature today will give you that ‘rainbow after the rain feeling’ that no matter how you feel isolated, you’ll soon run free.
Like these cows in the coastal town of Fylde!
Yes, we’re talking about cows. You might think for a second that this is a joke, but we’re not. In this video, you’ll see how happy these cows are to be free and running through an open pasture.
Tom Pemberton of Birks Farm in Lancashire, England, shared this video of his farm one day.
They’ve been in the barn for six months, and this was the day that Tom would set them free and run around the green pasture of their farm. The vast field is their playground, and you can see their joy running around.
In the video, Tom opens the gate of the barns first.
He is preparing for them to go out. You can see some are a bit confused or are hesitating to go out. As Tom said, they haven’t figured out what’s going on yet. Others even went back inside! Clearly, they’ve been in the barn for too long that going out seems foreign.
Tom went further beyond the fences when all the cows were rounded up, ready to open the last gate.
He signaled the farm guests to start their countdown. You can hear a lot of excitement from their voices (and Tom’s, too!). It seemed like everybody was looking forward to this moment. And in 3… 2… 1…
Out went the cows!
Yes, there was a moment of hesitation for the cows. But the moment they realized they were out in the open fields, you could see how happy they were!
Others were skipping and galloping away!
If you haven’t seen a cow this happy, then this is your chance to enjoy this video. Others even saved it for when they just want a pick-me-up for their day. Indeed, their joy is infectious. Some even cried tears of joy seeing this video because it reminded them of the days when they were living in the country.
So, why were the cows in the bard for six months?
That’s a good question. Farmers usually house their cattle during the winter season. Cows do not like the wind and the extreme cold, especially when the snow gets too deep. They love the warmer temperature, though not too warm, or they’ll get dehydrated or sunburnt.
They also prefer to be fed indoors during the cold months.
When the temperature outside is cold, there will be less grass to feed on. Farmers prefer to place the cows in barns to control the temperature, give them proper bedding to sleep on, and the right amount of food and nutrition.
And when the winter ends and the fields are green again, you can see this marvelous sight of happy cows.
