An 11-year-old shows up full of “spunk” and wins judges’ hearts with audition
A dreamer. That’s what Lara is.
Lara is an 11-year-old hopeful who traveled all the way from the Czech Republic to Germany just to audition for The Voice Kids.
She chose Taylor Swift’s 2014 hit, ‘Shake It Off’, to be her piece for the Blind Auditions phase of the competition.
Turns out, the young aspirant has already been taking singing lessons as well as being exposed to a couple of stage performances.
Will her performance be a pop or a flop? Just you wait.
The tension and pressure are always there at any audition.
But Lara here is different.
The Voice’s blind auditions are always the tricky part of the competition because it’s where you’re judged not because of your looks but your talent.
In this regard, Lara’s no different.
Stepping onto the stage, the place was filled with so much silence.
The tension was undoubtedly rising.
However, as soon as the lively beat of the song started playing, Lara couldn’t help but be what she truly was – a young girl.
She then began to bounce to the music and it almost looked like she forgot she was auditioning.
All five judges were hyped up and soon, they found themselves jiving with the 11-year-old auditionee.
The single targets Taylor Swift’s “haters”.

Taylor Swift said on her official YouTube channel,
“I’ve learned a pretty tough lesson that people can say whatever they want about us at any time, and we cannot control that. The only thing we can control is our reaction to that.”
She also said in an interview with Rolling Stone,
“I’ve had every part of my life dissected — my choices, my actions, my words, my body, my style, my music. When you live your life under that kind of scrutiny, you can either let it break you, or you can get really good at dodging punches. And when one lands, you know how to deal with it. And I guess the way that I deal with it is to shake it off.”

The song became a hit not only in the US but also in Australia, Canada, Hungary, Mexico, New Zealand, and Poland.
Shake It Off is also one of YouTube’s most-watched music videos and it’s included in what’s called “The Billion View Club.”
Lara’s audition is in the multi-million views club.
With over 11.7 million views on YouTube, there’s no doubt that she’s a star in the making.
The first ones to press their “I Want You” button were judges Michi Beck and Smudo, followed by judges Lena and Wincent Weiss.
But things got even better.
Lara began sobbing when she saw those chairs turning around, she was obviously overwhelmed which resulted in her not being able to continue her audition piece.
The judges lent her their voices.
To encourage her, the judges started singing along with her so she could catch up with the song.
After that, they decided to run it again with her – all five judges singing and grooving along with little Lara.
Only judge Álvaro Soler didn’t turn around for the Czech Republic aspirant, which he absolutely regretted. In the end, Lara chose to be on judge Lena’s team.
To welcome her, the two took a quick photo together, and judge Lena gave Lara the camera that they used to take a snap.
She’s definitely a little star shining brightly and we can’t wait to see what’s next in her journey.
