It’s interesting to look at the many ways in which people have responded to life in lockdown.

It hasn’t been easy on any of us, but some people have tried to see the bright side, using their newfound free time to do some DIY, write a book, make some art, or put their imaginations to work on some other kind of project.

Here are 12 inspiring and super cool ‘Covid projects’ that folks have been sharing online.

1) Perfect For The Man Cave

Since most people have been spending more time sitting around, watching TV and playing games, this guy decided to create something to make his lazy days even more enjoyable. He built a wooden armrest for the sofa, fitted with a wireless charger for his devices and USB slots too. It was his first woodworking project since leaving school and we’d say he did a pretty fine job.

2) A No-Waste Doll

Since most folks couldn’t go out to hardware stores or buy all the supplies they’d usually need for their DIY projects, many of them just made use of whatever items they had around the home. This parent decided to use old scraps of cloth and yarn to make a ‘no waste doll’ for their daughter.

3) A Very Cozy Space

Before lockdown began, this back porch was pretty empty and boring, but the homeowners decided to make the most of their free time to bring it to life! They installed a screen, added some plants, and fitted some lovely lights along the ceiling too. It looks so cozy, perfect for reading a book or relaxing while the sun sets.

4) Mountain Shelves

Sometimes, the simplest projects can be the best, and these little mountain shelves might not be as big or impressive as some of the other entries on our list, but they’re still really cute and well-made. The little spots of snow sitting on top of each one look great and those shelves are ready to be hung up on the wall.

This person decided to do a little stitching during lockdown to take their mind off the worries of the world. They created this gorgeous, colorful pattern! Nice job.

All we can say to this one is wow! This homeowner wanted to give their property a fresh lick of paint, totally transforming its appearance in the process. That bright blue really pops and the little lights and plants around the porch help the place look much more welcoming and homely than before.

The top image shows this homeowner’s yard before the lockdown began. The below image shows what it looks like after many hours of hard work! All of that effort really paid off, as the yard looks so much better now.

8) Cat Castle

While some people were completing projects to improve their own lives, others focused on pleasing their furry friends instead! This cat owner, for example, created an amazing cat castle for his feline friend. It looks like the cat absolutely loves it, and the whole thing is made from recycled materials like old boxes and bottles.

9) A Cute Little Creation

Not every Covid project has to be huge and awe-inspiring. Some folks opted for something smaller, like this cute little glasses holder. The woman responsible first thought about making a shelf for her husband’s glasses and then had the inspiring idea to make a mini set of bunk beds for each pair.

10) A Brand New Bathroom

There’s an amazing level of difference between these two images. You wouldn’t even guess that it was the same house, but this bathroom remodel has been done to perfection, right down to the tiniest detail. It looks a lot classier now than it used to.

Many folks have used this time to their advantage, choosing to do a little work around the house and finally get around to those DIY jobs they’ve been putting off for weeks and weeks. Well, this person didn’t just redecorate their bedroom or install a new appliance; they painted their whole house and cleaned up their yard too! The difference is staggering.

12) So Much Detail

This talented man decided to do a little woodwork during his time in lockdown. Using laser cutting technology and 10 layers of plywood, he crafted this immensely detailed design. All those swirling lines and patterns are making our heads spin, but it’s absolutely beautiful to admire. What a talent.
