10+ Australians who turned taking out the garbage into a major fashion event

Quarantine has got us all going a bit crazy. Whether youâre an introvert or extrovert, having to spend entire days at home alone is a challenge. This means that even the smallest trip outside is a cause for dressing up to-the-nines.
And we donât just mean putting on some makeup and nice clothes. These 12 Australians took it to a whole new level with their incredible fancy dress⊠which they wore just to take out the trash. We donât know whether to be impressed or concerned.
Take a look at the images below and decide for yourself.
1. The glam garbage

Drag is known for its exaggerated glamour, so we wouldnât usually associate it with taking out the trash â but weâre living for this look either way. In fact, weâd quite to borrow this manâs dress and heels for ourselves.
2. The Lego Lady

Yes, this Lego head/hand ensemble is sort of creepy, but weâre buying it. We canât be sure what sort of adventure sheâs taking her trash on, and we want to know. Equally important is where she bought her Lego cowboy outfit from.
3. The Mini Trump

Weâve seen a fair few Donald Trump impersonations over our time, but itâs always best when kids get involved. This family went all out by putting what we assumed was a miniature statue of liberty in their bin â but is actually another kid. Genius.
4. The Mermaid

If youâve seen âThe Little Mermaidâ, youâll know that life on land when youâve got a fish tail for legs is blimminâ hard. As proven by this lady in her hilarious mermaid costume. We wonder how long it took her to take out her trash? Three hours seems like a good estimate.
5. The Cruella

Sticking to the Disney theme, weâre seriously impressed with this Cruella de Vil look. I mean, if you happen to own two dalmatian doggos, it would almost be a crime not to take advantage. 10 out of 10 for effort.
6. The Waldo

Itâs a staple fancy dress costume â the Whereâs Waldo (or Wally, if you grew up in the UK). With a simple stripy hat and t-shirt, plus the statement square-frame glasses, this man has nailed his Waldo look.
7. The Model

The thing about the modeling career is that you never really get to take a day off. Even casual household chores, like taking out the trash, can be seen as an opportunity to practice your poses. You just never know when the paparazzi might be lurking nearby.
8. The Muppets Monster

Sometimes, the best sort of fancy dress is the throw-it-over-your-head-and-call-it-that kind. This blanket has been turned into a Muppet-esque monster, and the look is bizarrely effective.
9. The Iron Man

Look, taking out the trash is a harder job than many people give it credit for. In fact, the only people who have really mastered the chore are the superheros. Watch and learn, kids.
10. The Kilt

In Scotland, this would not be considered fancy dress. In Australia, however, the kilt has become a means of Scottish impersonation. Weâre not sure whether the Scots should be flattered or offended at this shot of a gentleman wearing a kilt to take out the trash.
11. The Offensive Swimsuit

Taking out your trash in a swimsuit is pretty extra anyway, but then you zone in on the particular swimsuit design⊠Yes, that is Trumpâs head. On a swimsuit. Weâre slightly terrified.
12. The Princesses

What a pair of beauties! These pretty dresses donât belong anywhere the rubbish bin, but when needs must. Weâd imagine the pair returned inside to sip tea and nibble on cucumber sandwiches when their trash duties were finished.
