There are a number of fascinating things to see and do in the United States. Many people believe that in order to truly experience fun and unique things, one has to go far. Usually, that entails visiting a different country entirely.

But the US has something for everybody. Whether you’re into hiking the trails and taking in the country’s breathtaking nature scenes or visiting one of the nation’s beautiful beaches, there are plenty of places for your interests.

Here are 12 exciting things you can do that are worthy of being on your bucket list — all in the US of A.

1. Florida Everglades

You’ve likely watched tv shows and movies that used the everglades in a scene or two. It may have even been the backdrop for the story. Though there are plenty of mosquitoes and, yes, reptiles, it’s definitely a sight to see. You might even return with a story to tell!

2. Skiing in Aspen

Skiing in Aspen, Colorado would definitely be one for the books! If you’re interested in hitting the slopes, why not come to the town where people live and breathe skiing and snowboarding? Not to mention, the views are magnificent.

3. Attend a game at the Big House

It’s the biggest college stadium in the US. What’s not to love? There isn’t a bad seat in the house. Besides, it’s in the great state of Michigan and in a fun college city — Ann Arbor. Get ready to lose your voice cheering on the Wolverines!

Vermont has some of the most breathtaking views during the fall. The leaves on the trees turn jaw-dropping colors of various hues. Vermont is also known for its maple syrup too! Why not go for a delicious pancake breakfast and walk the trails after?

6. Attend the Indy 500

It’ll be a long day but an intense one! Make sure you bring a pair of earplugs and binoculars, just to be safe. There will be plenty of beer and food options to choose from as well.

7. Mount Rushmore

You know that boring route people are always referring to when driving cross-country? You know, the route that includes states like South Dakota and Montana (to name a few)? Pay them no mind. Mount Rushmore is along the way in the Black Hills of South Dakota and it’s a marvel to see!

8. Driving the Florida Keys

Speaking of marvels, this is another landmark people tend to marvel at — the highway from Miami to Key West. You don’t have to be on spring break to enjoy the ride either. It’s a 113-mile drive and over 42 bridges through the Keys. The last stop? The island of Key West, of course!

9. Catching a play on Broadway in Times Square

The city that never sleeps because it’s too busy singing and dancing! Just look at those lights! It really is the city of dreams. Why not witness some of them coming true on some of the most popular stages in the US?

10. Surf in San Diego

The nature-made amphitheater is located in Utah and is one of those sights that put into perspective how we’re just a small fraction of this beautifully enormous world. 12. Northern Lights in Alaska

We’ve all seen the photos of the fascinating Northern Lights in Alaska. The proper name for this natural occurrence is Aurora Borealis. To see some of the best views, head to Fairbanks. Also, make sure to go during the winter when there isn’t much daylight.
