1. Preserving flowers

You can preserve flowers with a Borax mixture! All you need to do is combine two parts cornmeal and one part Borax in a container and place your flowers in it!

2. Homemade detergent

Detergent and paper products are in short supply right now! To make your own, simply grate one bar od soap in a food processor, add one cup of arm and hammer washing soda, and one cup of Borax. Use two tablespoons per load of laundry!

3. Fridge odor remover

Put a tablespoon of Borax in water a quart of water. Wipe down the entire thing with the mixture and then rinse with water. Nye bye odors!

4. Window cleaner

Mix two tablespoons of Borax with three cups of water and place it in a spray bottle. After, rinse the windows with a mixture of one to one vinegar and water.

5. Sparkle up your China

Fill your sink with warm water and add a half cup of Borax. Wash your dishes with the liquid then rinse in water.

6. Save violin strings

Violin strings can get gummed up with rosin. You can remove it by dipping a wet toothbrush in borax and gently scrubbing the strings. Just watch out for the drips you you don’t get it on the wood!

7. Silly putty!

This is a great kid craft! Put a bit of food coloring in a bowl and add 1/4 a cup of warm water. Add in 1/4 a cup of white glue and stir it in. Finally, sprinkle in the Borax and mush together!

You can remove rust from a ton of things with Borax! Mix a tablespoon of Borax and lemon juice in some water. When it makes a paste, use a brush to scour the paste on the rust and rinse with water.

The shower and tiles always seem to be getting dirty! Simply sprinkle some Borax on a wet sponge and scrub them down. Rinse after for a like-new surface.

11. Mattress Cleaner

Kids wet the bed. It happens. To clean, wet down the mattress and sprinkle Borax onto a damp cloth. Wipe the mattress down and let it dry. Once dried, vacuum up the residue!

12. Cleaning humidifiers

You can reduce the smell a humidifier produces with Borax. Pour half a cup of it into a gallon of water and pour that into your tank. Let it run through the liquid and you are done!
