10+ people who deeply regret their online purchases
There’s no denying that shopping has changed drastically compared to just a couple of decades years ago, as e-commerce is booming in a big way and is here to stay. No more visiting shops if you need something, you can just order whatever you want online with a single click and wait for your package to be shipped to the front door.
Evidently, online shopping is easy and offers a ton of advantages for us consumers, but there are always some drawbacks as well. Or at least, that’s definitely something that these 12 people will know, as all of them have purchased something online but weren’t really happy with their hilarious purchase. Let’s take a look at twelve of these funny shopping disappointments.
1) Online fashion shopping gone wrong
Fashion is one of the most popular categories when it comes to shopping, but it doesn’t always end well, even it ordering it online seems convenient. Sometimes it can totally backfire and end up in an unexpected result – just ask this poor Twitter-user.
2) Size matters
Product images can be pretty deceiving sometimes! This mom thought that she ordered a full-sized Converse rucksack as a backpack for school, but it turns out it was a mini-version for pets. At least it fits the cat!
3) Wait, that’s a not a doormat
Sometimes, you don’t just buy a doormat – you buy an image of a doormat. This pretty scammy seller trick was probably inspired by “ceci n’est pas un pipe”, as this doormat is simply a piece of foam with a picture of a doormat.
4) Miniature cooking
Why on earth would something create a pan that is as small as this? You can’t even fit half an egg in this… It seems like it was made for ants!
5) To boldly go where… wait
Sometimes, orders just simply get messed up and the wrong item is sent to the customer. That’s exactly what happened to this Star Trek fan, who received this beautiful DHL shirt instead of a Captain Kirk Starfleet uniform. Oops!
6) Not exactly like the picture
This brown bear isn’t exactly attractive-looking in the promotional images, but it’s actually even worse in real life! The bear mask isn’t cute or fluffy at all, and it looks like, well, judge for yourself… At least it would be a good fit for a horror movie!
7) Not so transparent product images
It’s clear that product images can be severely misleading, but this gorgeous dress actually turned out to be a major disappointment for this person, and you couldn’t see it on the product images at all. The bottom half of the dress is actually completely transparent, oops!
8) A small blanket
The expression ‘size matters’ usually holds true, especially when you’re trying to buy a blanket. You can’t really do anything with a tiny blanket like this one, now can you?
9) Poor gamer
This is another classic example of someone being sent a photograph of a product instead of the product itself. This man purchased an Xbox One console on eBay at the time it was released, and the story even made international news.
10) ‘Discreet’ packaging
When you’re ordering gifts for a loved one and you want to keep it a secret, you can usually leave a message behind to the seller and ask for discreet packaging as a surprise element. It looks like this company didn’t quite get the message…
11) 50 shades
We can’t figure out whether this was sold to someone as a prank or not – but you have to admit, it’s a pretty hilarious gift. Some might even think that it’s better than the book!
12) Not a happy buyer
The expression on this man’s face really does say it all. He expected to purchase a cool and traditional lounge chair, but it looks like he forgot to read the “Boys” part in the product title. Not an exactly an adult-sized chair, and not exactly a happy buyer either!
