12 impeccably-timed photos that will make you look twice

Impeccable timing is satisfying, no matter what, and photography might be the one activity where perfect timing is the most rewarding. Every photographer longs to capture that perfect shot, and it could easily take years before they get it.

When they do get it, though, oh golly does it feel good! So here are 12 perfectly timed shots from some very lucky photographers

1. OP’s mom just caught it going on.

Lightning striking a rainbow, this moment caught on my Mom’s cell phone.

Seems like Zeus is hanging out with the Leprechauns today. If only they’d be more subtle. No need to parade a sign like this in the sky for everyone to see.

2. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

I happened to catch this photo of a snowflake on my daughters eyelash last winter; it wasn’t there for long! (iPhone 4)

I don’t need to tell you how much we love the patterns of snowflakes and people’s eyes. So put the two together in such a perfectly timed shot like this, and there’s nothing not to love.

3. Nice ‘fro, bro…oh wait.

Didn’t notice the hair until much later.

It’s a shame that this guy’s afro cuts off halfway to the top. Though with this conveniently lined up tree, he can finally have the full package. Plus, mad props to the person who saw this tree lined up with the picture and thought “I have to grab a photo of that”. We salute you. Really, we do.

4. Looks like his game has some rendering errors.

Photo I took of the Charles River looks like two different pictures

It’s not every day you find this perfect of a line in the sky. Looks like someone took a cake-cutting knife and went to work on that sky. Let’s still give credit where it’s due, though. This shot is gorgeous.

5. “Where we’re going, we don’t need roads.”

Up up and away

Sometimes you just gotta say “Screw it” and drive your truck off into the sky. All those years playing GTA have been preparing you for this moment. Might as well take it, right? No, not really. Please drive safely, and don’t go driving your vehicles off of ledges. It’ll look rad as hell, but it’s not worth it.

6. “Drop mail here”

The shadow of two mailboxs makes a perfect up arrow

Shadows were always the most fun to play with when you’re a kid. They’re still fun when you grow up, especially when you find them making cool shapes without you having to do it.

7. “Hey I uh, think I found the car.”

Car found after an Amber Alert near me

Imagine being the guy who took this photo. Even funnier, imagine being the driver in the Nissan Sentra and having an LED board snitch on you.

8. Uninvited guests are the worst.

One of the Kayakers on my recent trip to Antarctica caught a penguin jumping into their group.

The nerve of this penguin, hitching a ride onto these kayaks like they’re some kind of Uber service for penguins. I hope they told him off real good.

9. Cue “See You Again”.

They then went their seperate ways.

Perhaps the sad bit in all this; there’s a really good chance that the drivers of these cars never even knew that this happened. Imagine contributing to a near, once-in-a-lifetime event and not even knowing. It’s so bittersweet, which is funny since this just concerns a pair of cars with funny license plates.

10. Here comes the sun, doo-doo doo-doo.

Fun at work
byu/drshaba7 inpics

The Earth is revolving around the sun at 107,000 kilometers per hour. So it’s not too surprising that we tend to get dizzy and forget where we’re supposed to be revolving. Thankfully, these experienced excavator operators know how to grab hold of the sun with their vehicles and set us back on course.

11. What does this Khajiit want?

My wife just texted me this picture of our cat playing behind the TV
byu/FutonSpecialOps infunny

I know Elsweyr isn’t the most lively place, but these Khajiit can’t keep waltzing into the homes of Skyrim’s Nords like this. It’s awfully intrusive, even if the wares they sell can be quite useful.

12. Biomes in Minecraft be like

It’s fall out of one of my windows, winter out the other
byu/hbrumage inmildlyinteresting

Hey, sometimes you can’t decide what biome your house will look best in. Obviously, the best compromise is to build it at the border between both. That way, you don’t have to choose.

Perfect timing is hard to, well…time. But it’s worth the patience and effort to snap that pic. Especially if the rest of us on the internet get to enjoy the moment you captured. Go and find some friends and family to share this with, and click the share button so they can see!

Please SHARE this with your friends and family.
