1. They are world-class snuggle buddies

2. They are so squishy

Why do we want to smoosh the faces of adorable things? It may be one of life’s great mysteries.

But we can’t deny that this is one smooshable face – and we mean that in the most loving way possible.

3. They have the face of pure innocence

Can you even imagine getting mad at that face? Impossible!

Even if he was holding our favorite shoe in his mouth we’d be inclined to give him a snuggle.

4. They can be total goobs

The best part of best friends is that they can always make you laugh. And this goofy dog looks like he’s happy to be making his humans happy.

We’d play fetch with this sweet nugget any time.

5. They are also very smart creatures

Labs are a very intelligent breed and are often trained as therapy and rescue dogs.

But they do come in chocolate, black, and yellow and we dare you to choose the cutest color.

Ok, so that might be true of all dogs, but it’s definitely true of labs. Just look at those eyes!

Suspicion confirmed: they are still adorable even when they’re being naughty.

This fawn was being treated by a vet and it got an introduction to this sweet puppy. They seemed to get along great since, unlike humans, they’re not cranky beasts.

Meanwhile, half the people who saw this photo online berated the poster because they assumed he had taken a baby fawn and ruined its chances of being accepted by its family just for the photo op.

We bet a lab would never be so unnecessarily suspicious.

12. They will let ducks chill out on their heads

We’ll grant you that this is a continuation from above and not necessarily the most important life skill, but it is a reason to see a tiny baby duck on a yellow lab’s head.
