10+ real people who look exactly like cartoon characters

Have you ever wondered how cartoonists got their inspiration for their characters? It turns out, they can gain quite a lot simply by observing the people around them. Some of the most memorable cartoon characters are those that have that extra life-like quality about them.

It turns out, many cartoon characters are actually based on real people living in the here and now.

More notably, though, it works the other way around, too. Sometimes a cartoon character will become crazy famous and after that, a person who never stood out for their looks before are suddenly being compared to everyone’s favorite cartoons.

Whether they want to or not and for better or worse, some people are just dead-ringers for famous cartoon characters. Without further ado, we present to you 12 people in real life who happen to look exactly like cartoon characters.

1. Aladdin/Joe Jonas

It could just be the haircut talking to us, but Joe Jonas looks like he’s Aladdin in the flesh. In fact, seeing them side by side we’re a little surprised he wasn’t cast as Aladdin for the recent live-action film. Oh well, though. He’s still just as dreamy and the best part is he lives and breathes.

2. Princess Merida/One fiery-looking little girl

Obviously this little girl’s hair makes her comparable to Princess Merida from Brave out of the gate, but the resemblance settles deeper than that. Everything from the color of her eyes, the chiseled, upturned little nose, and just the general shape of her face all scream doppelganger.

3. Millhouse/Paul Pfeiffer

Some of you lucky enough to grow up in the era of both The Wonder Years and The Simpsons might have already caught onto this. Paul Pfeiffer was the lovable nerd and best friend to Kevin Arnold in Wonder Years, and for those of us that grew up with him, there was no question that Millhouse was Paul reincarnate.

4. Mr. Burns/French teacher

“My wife has always claimed her elementary school French teacher looked exactly like Mr. Burns. She wasn’t wrong,” wrote one Redditor.

We would have to say that we completely agree!

5. The Riddler/Neil Patrick Harris

Way back when the Riddler from Batman was just a cartoon, he looked unnervingly similar to Neil Patrick Harris. The jawline certainly strikes a resemblance, but so does that uber cocky grin that both of them are known for.

6. Cartman/Dude on the bus

This guy absolutely has to know. There’s just no way he could not know that he looks like Cartman’s older twin, and he is playing it up better than anyone else ever could. He just needs to ditch the racer stripes and put on his yellow mittens.

7. Carl from Up/His doppelganger

We are pretty certain that this guy is the real deal when it comes to cartoon doppelgangers. He just doesn’t come off as the cosplay type of guy, but his looks are too spot-on to think of anyone but Carl from the movie Up when you look at him.

8. Russel from Up/His enthusiastic twin

It turns out that the cartoon characters from Up have more than one doppelganger. This little boy looks like a dead-ringer for Russel, and we’re really hoping he gets together with Carl’s doppelganger soon.

9. Zootopia’s Flash/One giggly girl

We have no idea what has gotten into this girl, but whatever it is it’s making her as happy as Flash from Zootopia. We only hope that her face doesn’t get stuck like that.

10. Gru/Gru in real life

There’s no way that scarf is a coincidence
is there? Sure, they don’t match exactly, but the way that they don’t match is even kind of matchy. Horizontal stripes instead of vertical? Black and yellow vs. black and gray? Something tells us someone cued this guy in on the fact that he looks just like Gru and he’s running with it.

11. Linguine/The inspiration behind it

Okay, okay, so their eye colors don’t match. But everything else about this kid is spot-on for Linguine from Ratatouille. If their personalities are anywhere near as similar as their faces, something tells us this boy is going to make an excellent cook.

12. Mr. Potato Head/Steve Harvey

You might think this is a little rude, and maybe it is, but one thing it’s not is inaccurate. Take a long look at that bushy mustache and the grin tucked away beneath it. Steve Harvey is a hero after all, so how do we know Mr. Potatohead wasn’t modeled after him?
