12 terrible eyebrow decisions that people have made

Ah, eyebrows. Natural is the way to go, but if you’re amazing at make-up and know how to play up those brows then, by all means, go for it. But if you insist on tweaking the way they look despite your lack of skills, well, you’re on your own.

Thick, bushy brows can be tamed with simple drugstore makeup. Easy to use eyebrow gels or brow soaps can do the trick. The best part is, you also have access to online tutorials to help ensure that you’re doing it right. See, you don’t have to immediately do what makeup artists on Instagram demonstrate. You know, the lining and blending, ending with the whole concealer thing? If you can’t seem to get it right or you’re just not up for it and prefer a no-fuss makeup routine, stick with the simplest products that still accentuate the shape of your brows.

Don’t do what these folks did.

12. Think before you ink, that’s what they say.

Now those are poor tattoo choices! We can’t help but wonder where friends and family were when these decisions were made. Also, who did those tattoos and why haven’t they been sued yet?

11. Let’s step away from the makeup, shall we?

Yes, practice makes perfect. But making changes that are close to permanent will cost you. Bad eyebrows can’t be fixed by piling on makeup or drawing on them. You’ll need a professional to work on them, ASAP. May we suggest leaving those brows alone until you’re positive you know how to play them up expertly?

10. Just no.

This is an “ask for help” situation, really. Surely, at least one of her colleagues knows how to draw on eyebrows and make them look way better than the one shown in this photo? Hoping someone gently pointed this out to her and actually did something about it.

9. Fantasy or reality?

If this is a Halloween costume and the eyebrows are part of the look, we shall support. But if the brows are part of your everyday look… girl. That gorgeous face needs better eyebrows, fast. Let’s seek expert help, shall we?

8. Did the 90s go this far?

The skinny brow trend was a passing one and for good reason. While each decade has “looked good then, questionable now” looks, this doesn’t seem to fit in any category.

7. When we say thick eyebrows, we don’t mean this.

Is this what “statement look” means? Thick brows are great, really, but please don’t go overboard. We’re having trouble figuring out what inspired this.

6. Now that’s bold.

A makeup enthusiast may sometimes (or often) have trouble remembering the saying, “Less is more.” That’s why you have mirrors, lighting, and photos to gently remind you of it. Unfortunately, not everyone cares for those things.

5. Symmetry… Or lack thereof.

Isn’t it easy to get ahold of stencils? You know, the ones you just line up with your arch and fill in lightly? Those aren’t just convenient and foolproof, they’re pretty inexpensive, too. So why don’t certain people use them?

4. Again, why?

If you can’t, then don’t. Ask for help. If you can’t find anyone to teach you or do your brows, then go easy on the makeup. (And please, use a mirror.)

3. Too much of anything is bad.

Exhibit A: these eyebrows. Thick, overdrawn eyebrows takes away from the loveliness of one’s face. The distracting result of being too happy with the brow makeup causes one to overlook just how pretty this woman is.

2. A collection of “no’s”.

We wonder where they got the idea that eyebrows are supposed to look like this. Again, where are the friends who can politely point out how accessible eyebrow stencils and online tutorials are? You guys are really bad at stepping in.

1. Why does this keep happening?

If you’re a fan of skinny brows, then by all means, rock the look. And by look, we mean something that’s shaped well and blended perfectly.

Like any makeup product applied in excess, bad eyebrows are painful to look at. So if you’re struggling with your own, please don’t go down the same path these people did. Have a professional wax, thread, and shape them for you.
