It’s a long list. And when you get to the end, you can do lots of other things to brighten up your day!
Sarah Helen King, psychologist and founder of Invigorise had this to say.
“Keep a gratitude diary near you and each day just spend a few minutes thinking about one thing you are grateful for, and write it down,” Sarah suggested. “Then, whenever you are having a bad day, whip it out and read it. Instant mood enhancer.”
Practicing gratitude does wonders!

4. Thank Goodness For Common Sense. I Wish It Was Free
3 years ago I almost slipped into a coma and died. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.
I paid $684 for my first 30-day supply of insulin. Some pay $1000+ a month. Many die without it.
Today I introduced legislation to cap the price of insulin at $50 a month. #txlege pic.twitter.com/NEVrozVJwf

5. No Matter How Hard It Is, You Have To Try To Push Through
Yesterday, I was 233 days sober.
I had a really stressful council meeting last night. I came home craving a Bourbon Manhattan in the worst way.
I took some melatonin. Played video games until it kicked in. And woke up today to Day 234.
It’s really hard.

The news can wreak havoc on one’s moods. Sarah says that if the news bothers you, just stop watching. “This has been hugely effective for many of my clients in minimizing anxiety in their day-to-day lives,” she explained.
“As an alternative suggestion though, give yourself a daily time (e.g 6 pm) and limit (10 minutes) where you will catch up with the day’s events. If you are prone to anxiety, steer clear of clicking on headlines that you know will be a trigger for you, and then after do something you enjoy, like go for a walk in nature or phone a friend for a catch-up and steer the conversation to something positive that happened in the day.”
You choose what sets your mood.
