14 natural methods for removing skin tags, warts, blackheads, age spots, and moles

The majority of the human population has some sort of skin issue. The idea that we’re all born with smooth, clear skin that stays that way until we die is fairly ludicrous.

It’s incredibly normal to have the likes of moles, skin tags, warts and blackheads on your face and body. But that doesn’t mean you necessarily want them there.

If you’re looking to achieve healthier, nicer-looking skin, there’s usually no need to visit the doctor or pay for an expensive treatment. Instead, try out these simple, skin-friendly remedies for removing moles, warts, age spots, skin tags and blackheads the natural way.

For skin tags:

1. Oregano oil

According to WikiHow, oregano oil is a pretty powerful antiseptic and antispasmodic, which means it will cause the skin tag to dry up and drop off. Just apply five or six drops of oregano oil to your skin tag three to five times a day. You should see results after a month.

2. Lemon juice

Lemon juice is acidic, which will cause the skin tag to slowly decompose. It is also antiseptic, which means it can help to stop unnatural growths on the skin.

3. Castor oil and baking soda

Baking soda is a hero for many reasons, and it can also help remove skin tags. Just mix it with some castor oil to form a thick paste. With a cotton swab, dab the paste onto your skin tag.

For moles:

4. Cumin

Natural Remedies says that ground cumin and water, mixed to form a paste, can help reduce your moles when applied regularly over a period of three weeks.

5. Essential oil bath

Looking to get rid of moles all over your body? Beyond Disease says the best thing to do is take a bath. Just add one cup of baking soda, one cup of sea salt, six drops of lavender essential oil and three drops of frankincense oil to your warm water, then lie back and relax.

For age spots:

6. Horseradish and milk

It might sound a little repulsive, but soaking raw horseradish in a bowl of milk for 20- 30 minutes and applying it to your face is the formula for getting rid of age spots. According to Organic Facts, the mixture contains antioxidants and volatile compounds which will encourage the age spots to disappear.

7. Onion and apple cider vinegar

We can’t promise any methods for removing age spots are too spa-like in smell, but applying a mixture of equal parts onion juice and apple cider vinegar to your problem areas is another spot-fading winner. You can make onion juice by blending an onion, then draining the juice with a strainer.

8. Buttermilk and tomato

According to Organic Facts, blending buttermilk and tomato works similarly to fade age spots. There really is a vegetable for everything these days.

For removing blackheads:

9. Lemon juice

Lemon juice is back again to prove its worth in battling skin issues. In this case, it’s the alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) citric acid in lemon juice that helps unclog pores and get rid of dead skin cells. Lemon juice is also a great source of collagen, which helps skin stay young fresh. Just dab a bit of pure lemon juice onto your blackheads and leave it overnight.

10. Baking soda paste

We already know by now that there is nothing baking soda can’t do. Not only does it clean the skin, Natural Living Ideas also says it helps neutralize pH and encourages the skin to produce less oil (the thing that causes blackheads in the fist place). It can also scrub away those dead cells, leaving your skin baby-smooth. Just mix equal parts baking soda and water, then apply to your face and leave it on for about 10 minutes. Rinse off with warm water and pat dry with a towel.

11. Oatmeal

You might be more used to eating oatmeal for breakfast, but Natural Living Ideas recommends using it as a cleanser to unclog debris stuck in your pores. Just cook and cool your oatmeal, then apply it straight onto your face. Leave it for 10 to 20 minutes before washing off.

For getting rid of warts:

12. Banana peel

If you’d rather make use of your old banana peel, this one’s for you. According to Everyday Roots, there’s a proteolytic enzyme in banana peel which gradually destroys warts. Just scrape the soft white stuff out of the peel with a spoon, and apply it to your wart. Cover the wart to leave the stuff in place. Repeat every day.

13. Apple cider vinegar

One of the simplest and most effective wart removers is apple cider vinegar. Soak a cotton ball with the vinegar, then stick it to your face covering the wart. The acid in the vinegar will decompose the flesh of the wart, eventually causing it to die and fall away.

14. Pineapple juice

If you want a wart treatment that actually smells nice, pineapple juice is the answer. The acids in the juice work to break the wart down naturally.
