15 photos that prove baby polars bears are some of the cutest creatures on Earth

While polar bears are native to the Arctic Circle, climate change is quickly decimating their home. Zoos around the world have polar bear breeding programs, but they belong in the wild – and there are only an estimated 30,000 left in the world.

If you didn’t feel the pain of that before, you certainly will after you see these sweet faces.

Here are 15 little polar bears at their very cutest:

1. Snug as a bug

Polar bear cubs typically nurse from their mothers for over two years!

No wonder this little one is staying close.

2. Whoops!

Look at this goofy cub!

You’d think that making their home on ice might make them less prone to slipping on it.

3. Arctic sass

It looks like these baby bears aren’t keen on their captivity.

We can’t blame this one for trying to ruin the human’s shot (it turned out perfect anyway).

4. Ready for a close-up

This is Knut, who was raised in a zoo after being rejected by his mother.

It’s very rare for mothers not to be fiercely protective of their cubs so Knut won the world’s love as a result.

Sadly, he died suddenly at the age of 4.

5. Who’s there?

You better watch out when there’s a polar bear on the other side of the door – even a little one.

6. Comin’ atcha

It’s not safe for humans to cuddle with polar bears. So we have to ask – then why make them so cute?!

7. Hanging out with mom

It looks like mom is managing to get a little sleep despite her cub not being quite so tired.

But it looks like this little one has learned its lesson not to wake momma bear during her beauty rest!

8. Say what?!

Mothers dig caves for their cubs when they’re born and this little one came out of his for the first time at a German zoo in 2014.

We’re not sure if he was pleased to see us all or not.

9. Hitting the salad bar

This is Finja who lives at Vienna’s Schönbrunn Zoo.

Despite polar bears being carnivores, it looks like she’s learned to love her veggies as well (or at least enjoys playing in them).

10. Yay for me!

What’s black and white and cute all over?

This little polar cub!

11. Meet Bo

This is Borealis, Bo for short.

He lives at the Toledo Zoo, which is sadly a long way from where he should be.

Doesn’t that face make you want to save the Arctic?

12. Goofball

This cub debuted at the Tierpark Zoo in Berlin only to put on quite the show after emerging from her birth cave.

Looks like she wasn’t quite ready for the world yet.

13. Roly-poly

If this doesn’t make you smile, nothing will.

14. No, seriously, listen

We hope these two are coming up with plans to save the world.

They look pretty serious about whatever the topic is.

15. Mom, stop!

No matter what species, some kids are just SO embarrassed by their parents.

Looks like this little one isn’t ready for a hug – but how could help it?
