15 people that adopted a giant house bear disguised as a dog
All dogs are really just puppies at heart. They love to play, explore, mow down on some good food, and lounge around for long cuddles with their humans. Though there are many traits, needs, and interests that all dogs share, one thing they most certainly don’t have in common is their size. From mini to mighty, they can come in just about any shape and size you can think of. Sometimes, that shape is a house bear.
While people tend to be more familiar with the ever-adorable smaller breeds, like the Teacup Chihuahua, Pugs, and Pomeranians, they can be a little shocked when they see an enormous dog. What’s even better though is when they think they’ve adopted a regular dog, only to later find out they really got a massive house bear.
Rest assured, these breeds will give you more love and loyalty than you could have ever dreamed of. One thing they won’t do, though, is accept that they are too huge to act like a pup. Here are 15 people who thought they adopted dogs but ended up with a house bear instead.
1. A house bear is always so cute when it’s small
This dog owner thought his puppy would be an average-sized dog. He recreated the same picture from when he was a pup exactly a year later to the date. Obviously, he couldn’t squeeze his house bear into the sweater while he was wearing it anymore, but we think the bear fills it out nicely.
2. Havoc the bandana-wearing House Bear
When you’re as large and adorable as Havoc the house bear, you’ve gotta have style, too. Havoc is a sweet lovable boy, but he has his name for a reason. Not because he’s got a bad temper, but he does have some mean spears on his feet if someone wants to mess with his humans.
3. Sometimes a House Bear requires a selfie-stick
This sweet baby bear’s face is so massive that his owner can’t even take a selfie and fit his whole head in the frame, let alone hers. We are pretty sure this is exactly the reason that they created selfie-sticks in the first place. Someone’s gotta look out for the photo-happy house bears, after all.
4. A Bed Bear
This is Escobar, a baby Neopolitan Mastiff. When we say baby, we mean that this big ol’ bed bear is only 1-year-old in this photo. He weighs 216 pounds of pure love!
5. A House Bear that looks like a Teddy Bear
What’s better than having one of the giant, plush, stuffed Teddy bears you can only win at a carnival? A colossal-sized house bear that actually looks like a Teddy Bear! They live and breath, keep you warm in winter, and love you to pieces every single day.
6. Bear Blankets
When you have house bears, you will never need another blanket again, ever! These two big boys weigh 180 lbs and 165 lbs, and both of them love to snuggle up on mama! We’re pretty sure this lady wakes up one of the happiest people on the planet every single day.
7. House Bears sit pretty for loves
Just like dogs, all house bears want loads of affection and loves. The only difference is that they need about 10,000 times the amount of lovey-loads as most other dogs. Don’t worry, though. It requires almost no effort at all and they inspire it in you.
8. Some House Bears can get a little lazy
When they do, you might lose a good chunk of your furniture. Just know that if your house bear is feeling particularly tired, you may lose the use of your ottoman. That’s alright, though. At least you’ve still got the couch.
9. Even when they don’t fits they sits
It doesn’t really matter if you think your house bear has outgrown your furniture. They may seem too large, but you can trust that they will find a way to fit, and if they fits, they sits!
10. House Bears still think they’re lapdogs
This gentle giant believes that he is 100% a lap dog. In reality, he is 110% lap bear. To be fair, it doesn’t look like his owner has a single complaint about it. We’re not so sure about the adorably ousted looking pup next to them, though.
11. At least his butt isn’t as big as his head
Just to put things into perspective for you, compare the size of this dog’s head to his owner’s. Then, compare it to the size of the cat’s. Even though his head is about 5 times the size of his human’s, it isn’t nearly as big as the size of his heart.
12. The elusive subway Bear
If you have never seen the elusive subway bear before, just know that when you do you will be dying to adopt one yourself. His sheer massive size might throw you off at first, but then you just gaze into the saucer-sized eyes on his sweet face and you suddenly know the true meaning of love. That, plus his enormous size will stop any would-be attackers right in their tracks!
13. A whole new meaning to Bear Hugs
The thing about house bears is that they always want to give you a giant bear hug. This is a beautiful thing that you can’t get anywhere else in the world. Accept and enjoy every single one you get. Just put on some clothes you don’t care about if you’re going to hug it out in the mud.
14. Dances with Bears
One of the best things about ending up with a house bear is that they make some of the best dancing partners on the planet. They trust your every move and they always want long hugs afterward.
15. Now that’s a snow Bear
House bears tend to have plenty of fur on their massive coats. That means that they will more than likely love to play in the snow. When they do, they will look like a bear made of snow and you will suddenly love winter that much more!
