19-year-old accidentally moved into a senior living complex and share what her life is like
Moving into a new home is always exciting. You get to start a new life, meet new friends, and learn new things about your community. However, there are just some instances wherein you get the shock of your life upon meeting your new neighbors.
This 19-year-old had the most interesting story about her new neighbors.
TikTok is a popular social media platform that allows users to create, share, and watch 15-second videos. There are a lot of content being shared in this platform such as dance tutorials, makeup hacks, or life stories. One of these TikTokers that has gained popularity is Madison Kohout.
Madison is a 19-year-old who moved from Oklahoma to Arkansas to start a new life, only for her to realize that she didn’t belong in her new community.
Madison has been living on her own since she was 17. Her growing years came with a lot of challenges. She even revealed that she grew up supporting herself.
Tiktok helped her gain friends which led to her new home. You see, one of the people she met on TikTok was Ms. Lori Parker of Piggott. They followed each other and kept on commenting on each other’s videos.
They quickly became friends that Ms. Parker invited her to Arkansas.
“She just touched my heart,” Ms. Parker said. “I felt like I’ve known her for a long time.”
Madison eventually moved to Piggot in March and started looking for apartments online. However, there wasn’t much information about the apartments. Finally, she found a place that she wanted to live in.
What really sold the place to her was because the rent there was significantly cheaper than the one she had before. It was only $350 per month! Ready to start moving in, her landlord gave her the keys and didn’t say anything, but he knew she was only 19!
“It was super spacious and felt like home,” Madison described her new place.
Once she was able to move in, she started meeting her new neighbors. However, she noticed something odd about them.
It took a week for her to finally realize what she had done. She even shared it immediately with her followers on TikTok. No wonder her landlord told her to move in the night since no one’s going to hear anything.
That’s because she accidentally moved into an apartment for senior citizens!
I was looking around at my surroundings to see what there was I could do here, and I saw the sign that said ‘Senior Living Apartments,’ and I realized I moved into a retirement community,” Madison said in an interview. “Once I saw the sign, all the things clicked. I was like, ‘Oh, my goodness, I can’t believe I did this.’”

All of her neighbors were above 65 years old. It was not a problem for Madison because she actually likes her new living situation. She even enjoys hanging out with them, listening to their stories, and eating the delicious food they cook for her.
“I’ve never had so many home-cooked meals in my life,” she said.
Ever since then, Madison began sharing more things about her new home and living situation with senior neighbors.
“It’s like having extra sets of grandparents,” she said.
Her elderly neighbors also care so much about her that they always ask her how she’s doing whenever she gets home. This may not be part of her plan, but she was happy that she ended up in that apartment complex. You can follow more of Madison’s story on Tiktok.
