20 uniquely beautiful animals with colors and markings we can’t stop staring at
Creatures come in all shapes, sizes, and colors.
But it looks like Nature spent a little extra time coloring in some of these creatures.
From the sea to the sky, these 20 animals are so unique we can hardly take our eyes off of them.
1. All smiles
Even if you’re not a fan of snakes, there’s no denying that this Green Vine Snake is truly something to behold.
Luckily, they’re slow-moving and only mildly venomous. Still, don’t wait around to get a better picture than this.
2. Nice and rosy
The Rosy Maple Moth often has the color boosted on its photos and we’re pretty sure that’s what’s going on here.
But even if the colors were less vivid it wouldn’t be much less enjoyable to behold.
3. Half and half
Well, this peacock is certainly one of a kind!
It’s unclear if it’s a chimera or half albino, but it looks like Nature got a little lazy and stopped coloring halfway through.

4. Under the sea
This is a Spanish Shawl, which sounds much better than “colorful sea slug.”
Nature clearly has a flair for the dramatic in the water as well as on land.

5. Cold feet
The Blue-Footed Booby lives in the tropical regions of the Pacific ocean.
So its feet certainly aren’t blue from the cold.
6. Nice combover
Well, we won’t say it doesn’t look a bit like a certain president.
But regardless of your politics, you have to admit this Golden Pheasant is really something special.
7. Luxurious lizard
This fan-throated lizard is native to eastern India.
It can probably blend in most of the time – especially if you’re looking down on it.
But once that throat fans out it’s all eyes on this guy.
8. Pretty in pink
Yep, you’re seeing that correctly!
These pink dolphins are native to the Amazon – but there is one (Pinky) who has been spotted in the waters of Louisiana!
9. Beautiful in blue
This is a Blue Glaucus.
It’s technically a sea slug but it’s certainly not what we think of when we hear the word “slug”!
10. Seeing double
So many people assumed this rare horse was Photoshopped.
But it just turns out he’s wildly unique.
11. Gouldian Finch
This bold bird is native to Australia.
While the females are less bright (as usual), both sexes are brightly-colored to some extent.
12. California Red-Sided Garter Snake
Gorgeous, but we’ll pass on running into one.
It’s not dangerous to humans, but we’d still rather enjoy it from afar. Good thing it can be seen from a distance!
13. In plain sight
This chameleon isn’t hiding from anything any time soon.
Perhaps he changed his colors to match his mood.
14. Indian bullfrog
These are native to Myanmar, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Nepal and can be very destructive when they invade new places.
Only the males are this colorful – and only during mating season.
15. Beautiful bear
This rare spectacled bear is the only one native to South America.
Its diet only consists of about 5% meat, so you’re safe.
16. Care Bear cat
This is Fluff. Her sister Izzy amassed quite an Instagram following before she came along, but now both British Shorthair sisters are amusing people with their owl-like stares.
We just can’t get over her markings!

17. Dangerous beauty
It’ll kill ya’, but at least the last thing you’ll see is this venomous-yet-beautiful Blue Dart Frog.
18. Ol’ blue eyes
This Siberian Husky’s name is Joey Tribbiani.
And you’ll be entirely unsurprised to know he has his own Instagram page where over a quarter of a million people follow his life.

19. All rolled up
We’re suddenly craving a cinnamon bun.
Or do you think it looks more like a snail?

20. Strike a pose
No human or animal ever looks this good without a little work.
And while there’s no doubt it took a while to pose this dog, we couldn’t make ourselves this regal even if we tried.
