20 dogs that got a haircut and now look oddly human

Pet grooming is big business. But there’s a difference between tidying up some fur or giving a dog a summer shave and going all-out salon on them.

We feel pretty bad for most of these dogs, especially since they’re rocking human haircuts that humans can’t even rock without looking ridiculous (at least for the most part).

From accessories to layers, these pups are looking a bit too people-like for our comfort.

1. Should I get bangs?

The only thing worse than deciding to get spur-of-the-moment bangs is giving them to your dog.

No creature deserves that. They can’t even pin those back while they grow out!

2. Shorter in the back

Listen, the stacked look is over. Any hairstylist will tell you that.

And if they recommend it, you’re in the wrong salon.

We like the middle part, but we’re nearing Karen-levels of bad hair in the back.

3. Beastly braid

This dog looks like it just sat through some ridiculous human braiding its hair – because it did.

And she’s not happy.

Did you catch that French braid in the front too? Just get a doll already!

4. Dog-hawk

Is it badass? Yes, of course.

But should you be dyeing your dog’s hair or adding enough product for a mohawk? Probably not.

5. Beiber bowl cut

This deserves some sort of trigger warning, but we don’t know what kind. We just know it’s disturbing and we can’t unsee it no matter how hard we try.

We can only hope this dog doesn’t have a mirror nearby.

6. So emo

Even Pete Wentz would shudder to see this poor pup.

He had the whole Grizzly Adams thing going on, but now no one is going to take his pain seriously.

7. Swooped

We would have liked to swoop in and stop this from happening. It’s a very Kate Gosselin look.

And we’re pretty sure she’s no longer a thing.

8. Fabio-lous!

If dogs wrote (or read) romance novels, this dreamy dog would be on the cover.

We’d like to see this hair blowing in the wind.

9. Boho chic

If this dog were a human it would be sitting on the beach, cross-legged, pretending to meditate with a venti mocha latte nearby.

We can already tell it’s super-psyched about the next big sale at Anthropologie.

10. Scrunchies are back

Sorry, we love it. She looks like a little gymnast with her hair all pulled back.

The problem is she probably can’t hear the compliment with her ears pulled back as well.

11. Big woof

It’s very…Texas.

This dog looks like it’s ready to take your order at a roadside cafe in a small town where they really only sell coffee and pie.

You ready to order, hun?

12. In the wind

Putting the pumpkin aside, this is one petty majestic dog.

We just think it would be better to redistribute some of that hair so its poor little naked body is covered too.

13. The Karen

Actually, we WOULD like to speak to a manager about this abysmal cut.

Let’s keep the dogs away from the asymmetrical bobs, shall we?

14. Deep part

It’s pretty hard to pull off a part that far over, but this pup is kind of making it work.

But we bet it would prefer the ability to see out of both eyes.

15. Chunky highlights

This is why we don’t try highlights at home.

Actually, we do balayage now. Highlights are a thing of the past. Get your dog groomer up to date!

16. Messy updo

There’s the Parisian chic messy updo and then there’s the Britney Spears on a bad day updo.

This, sadly, is the latter.

At least this dog is aware enough to be angry.

We kind of hope she’s a biter because her owner needs to learn a lesson.

Well, this pup clearly needed a clean-up, we’re just not so sure about the kiddie accessories.

But there’s no denying she looks happy – sometimes you just have to let someone rock their own style.

19. Too much product

We’re getting a very “crunchy” vibe from this hair, like someone put in too much product while it was wet and it never saw a blow dryer.

At the end of the day, we’re not sure how we feel about treating dogs as playthings.

But we do know there are some awful hairstyles out there that we shouldn’t inflict on the canines in our lives.
