20 cats that will have you ready to snuggle all their warm, fluffy fur

Aside from cleaning up the hair and making sure they’re groomed, having a majestically fluffy cat just can’t be beat.

From wanting to run your fingers through their fur to dreaming about nuzzling your face into their soft floof-covered bodies, long-haired cats are the best.

Here are 20 fluffballs that we just can’t resist:

1. Norwegian Forest Cat

Native to – you guessed it – Norway, these beauties not only have long, heat-trapping outer fur that repels water but a wooly coat underneath.

No wonder they love the snow!

2. Chinchilla Persian

These beautiful snow-white cats with glowing green peepers have the cat equivalent of puppy dog eyes.

Could you resist this face?

3. Flame Point Himalayan

These are technically a type of Persian cat with red-pointed coats.

And we simply can’t believe the amount of fur on this cat!

When’s snuggle time?

4. Maine Coon

This is Marco the Maine Coon. Not only is his breed notoriously fluffy, but they are enormous as well!

They’re the largest domesticated cat breed AND one of the oldest breeds in North America.

5. Birman

Part of the Birman’s fluffy look is due to their “big-boned” nature.

Also known as the “Sacred Cat of Burma,” their long, silky coats are accompanied by piercing blue eyes.

6. Angora

The Turkish Angora is one of the oldest known cat breeds.

And while you can’t see it here, they are known for their amazingly bushy tails.

7. Ragdoll

The Ragdoll is technically a “designer cat,” created by American breeder Ann Baker in the 1960s.

They’re popular pets because not only are they cuddly-looking, but they’re also quite calm and affectionate.

8. Selkirk Rex

These “poodle cats” are known for their bushy, curly hair.

A cat with a genetic mutation for curly hair was bred with a Persian cat in 1987 and now we have these curly fluffballs.

9. Long-Haired Scottish Fold

Also known as the Highland Fold, these cats are born with straight ears that start to bend after about a month.

They’re unique and snuggly!

10. Siberian

These fluffy cold-tolerant cats are native to Russia and are just about as majestic as a feline can get.

They’re all grace and class, but we’d like to think they enjoy a good nuzzle as well.

11. Chantilly-Tiffany

These North American cats were once thought to be extinct until the 1960s.

Now, after a brief resurgence, the too-good-to-be-true cats are gone once more after a devastating fire at a cattery and a failed final breeding attempt.

12. Ragamuffin

Long-haired AND long-bodied, these cats often have their fur compared to bunnies!

The good news is they’re very friendly and love to be held and cradled – which is exactly what we want to do to this one!

13. Somali

These red-haired, affectionate darlings are thought to be the product of a genetic mutation in Abyssinian cats.

But that’s all we know other than that they look like the softest species around.

14. Cymric

These round and fluffy creatures are considered a variety of the Manx breed.

They’re usually tailless but that just means more body fluff to cuddle!

15. Lilac British Longhair

British longhairs can come in lots of colors, but none are as poof-tastic as the light-colored lilac cats.

16. Long-Haired Calico

Calico is just a type of coloring that can appear in just about any cat breed.

We think Mumu The Floof is one of the most gorgeous examples.

Don’t you just want to run your fingers through that hairy chest?!

17. Grey and Bi-color Persians

Persian cats come in lots of colors, but Otto and Momo have a lot of grey going on.

This breed tends to have some health problems, but that doesn’t keep them from being one of the most popular cat breeds in America.

18. British Shorthair

A cat doesn’t need to be long-haired to be fluffy and the British Shorthair proves that.

Just look at this little fluffball!

19. Neva Masquerade

This cat belongs to the Siberian breed but has points of color on its face and paws.

20. Siberian Forest Cat

To be fair, this is just another name for a Siberian can, but since they’re some of the ultimate furballs, we couldn’t help but have one more look at this beauty.
