People love to travel, and spending days away from home means that you’ll have to book a room somewhere. It’s usually a hotel, and a lot of us have had funny experiences with different hotels worldwide.

Alright, let’s not exaggerate, as long as the room is in order and clean, the occupants should be satisfied. That doesn’t stop us, though, from laughing at some hilarious design fails. Let’s see what we’ve got here!

Be creative – put that ashtray to good use!

A man shared his non-smoking room with a non-smoking ashtray on Reddit. Well, maybe the staff wanted to make sure that you know that they remembered you wanted a non-smoking room. It seems like a very eccentric form of paying attention to details. Or, maybe, that ashtray has a whole different purpose we don’t even know about.

In case you weren’t aware that you want to put your visits to the toilet on display!

Another interesting concept of giving people enough material to joke with a hotel room. Who said you need privacy? What for? Go to the bathroom, do your thing, and feel free, as if walls don’t exist. In this case, they almost don’t. If this doesn’t bring you closer to a person who shares a room with you, we don’t know what will.

It’s probably art!

Here is an interesting situation. A man switched the lights on and looked up. There it was, on the ceiling, a sight that could make you uncomfortable. Or maybe not?! Whatever you might think of this, just know that it’s probably interesting to someone who has nothing better to do than to look at the ceiling.

Why would you need ventilation in the bathroom?!

Well, it doesn’t take an architect to understand that the bathroom will get steamy if you have no vent. Better yet, it takes nothing but common sense to understand that if there’s no vent, then you don’t need that grate either.

Is this supposed to be different or just cheap?

If you’re confused about what exactly are you looking at – don’t worry, we felt the same at first. It the brand new concept of ‘shared doors’. Yes, that’s right. You enter a hotel room, and inside there is only one door between a closet and a bathroom. That means that you can only close one at a time. If you’re in the toilet, the closet stays open, and vice versa. Mind-blowing!

Sitting area for people who train parkour!

Needless to say, that sitting area is a little high. Who could actually climb up there? Maybe there’s another way up, some hidden stairs from behind or something like that. The secret way to lead you to a ceiling. Interesting, to say the least!

The wall inception!

There is only one rule at this hotel: if you like something, stuff the space with it, who cares if your guests don’t like it The picture seems nice? Put it on all walls!

You asked for a bigger tv, who said anything about the resolution?!

The man said that he even paid extra money for a room with a bigger tv. Well, they clearly didn’t understand what he meant. The money is already gone, so…

Not the best carpet choice!

Don’t make us list all the things this carpet reminds us of. None of them is good, attractive, or pleasant. It looks as if someone killed a giant in that hallway. At least you can stain it all you want, it probably won’t show.

We’ll advertise that we have a pool without mentioning it’s out of function!

This man had an unfortunate misunderstanding with the motel. They advertised that they have the pool, but left out all the gravel in it. What are you supposed to do in that situation? Play in it?!

Someone might interpret it differently!

When you use abbreviations, make sure that they don’t stand for something that might be misinterpreted. If nothing else, ‘A-S-S’ written in elevator calls for a joke or two.

How artistic!

Someone might call this art, but it sure looks like hair to us. To be precise, it’s almost disgusting. How can anyone look at that long that a couple of seconds? It’s beyond us that anyone might think it looks good on any wall, ever.

What a beautiful view!

It all seems normal. There is a room, a big bed, a window, curtains are on. Wait, while we’re at curtains, move them a bit. That’s right a beautiful view at nothing but bricks will appear. Delightful!

Superstitious elevator panel!

The hotel elevator panel does not include number 13. What does that mean? They don’t have a 13th floor? Does that automatically make the 14th floor to be 13th? Isn’t it the same then? We’re confused.

Just guess the right combination!

Here is one of the most complicated sinks we’ve ever seen. So many faucets could make you dizzy. Maybe the correct combination opens some chamber of secrets, who knows?!

A fan fan

They spin. This fan-made of two smaller fans is the weirdest recycling moment we have ever seen.

Someone left the iron(y) on!

Technically, it’s not a fail, but a rather funny coincidence. What are the odds that the ‘hot’ in the word ‘hotel’ will be on fire?!

The pedestal for a toilet paper

And here we are, thinking it’s enough to put toilet paper on a roller. No, you have to build a special place for it, make it distinguished, put some light around. A roll of toilet paper is priceless!

It can not be un-seen!

Another weird case involving toilet paper. We hope this toothbrush never finds its way to being used again. Seems like quite a possibility in that hotel.
