There are many hundreds of great things about owning a dog, but one of the greatest is how excited they are to see you. It doesn’t matter if you were gone for 10 seconds or 10 hours. When they see you pop up in front of them they go crazy just the same. There is just something about dogs that make them LOVE to say ‘hi’!

It doesn’t even matter if you’re their human or not. Granted, their parents are gonna get the best ‘hi’ of them all, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t stoked to get the chance to greet you, too, whenever you’re around. Some dogs will do the craziest things just to creep up for a quick ‘hello’.

1. Peek-A-Kita

This cute little Akita puppers knew that if she tried hard enough, she could squeeze her big fluffy head through the hole to say ‘hi’ to everyone. The real question is how is she going to get it back out? We’re sure one of the friendly passersby helped push her head back through. Obviously not before getting an uber-cute photo out of her first, though.

2. This doesn’t look like China…

Someone must have told this crazy canine that if he dug long enough, he’d make it all the way to China. Silly pup. Never believe the hooman’s rumors! They’re always trying to get a go out of you.

3. Well, Smello there!

He can look through the fence and he can smell through the fence, but he can’t do both at the same time. It must be hard to decide the best way to say ‘Hi’ to strangers when you’re a dog. The hole in the fence is right at butt-sniffing level, though, so clearly he made the right choice.

4. I am bush now!

This ridiculously cute Shiba Inu dog decided she wanted to be a bear and crawled up the fence through the bushes and got stuck. Though most animals would panic in her situation, she knew right away that it was all good. She found the perfect way to greet everyone without getting into trouble for leaving the yard.

5. Hey dad! Need some help?

The thing about Huskies, scary stigmas aside, is that they are big lovers. These Husky pups must have thought dad was having a little trouble in the bathroom, so they popped in to see if they could help him out. Of course, doggy kisses always help!

6. I make my own beds

This dog just loves to say ‘hi’ to everyone that passes by her yard, but her fence tends to get in the way of greeting her friends. That’s okay though. She’s a smart puppers with the perfect workaround. She just dug herself a bed beneath the fence so she could sit and say ‘hello’ to all the hoomans.

7. Look, mom! I built me a doggy door!

This dog can’t wait to say ‘hi’ to his humans when they get home, and waiting for the door is unbearable. Well, it was at least, but it’s certainly not anymore. This clever pup built himself a doggy-door and he’s super proud of himself. As annoying as the damage might be, there probably isn’t much that smile won’t get him out of.

8. Just poppin’ in

“Hello, hooman! Giving out pets today?” How could anyone ever say no to a face like that?! Rotties have some of the best smiles and they’re full of love. So much so that they’ve got to spread it through the neighborhood.

9. I just wanted to say Hi, mom. Please put the camera down now

This adorable bully got so excited to say ‘hi’ to his mom that he ended up slipping and getting stuck. Mom, of course, came straight to his rescue. Right after snapping this hilarious photo, that is. We feel sorry for the poor guy, but we really can’t blame his human a bit!

10. Cocker-Boo!

What do you call a Cocker Spaniel that loves to scare people? A Cocker-Boo! This little dude is the master of the sport. He’ll get you every time.

11. The elusive Mexican double dog-decker

Every single night these cuties’ mama comes home they greet her with this charming little scene. The ever-elusive Mexican double dog-decker. It’s something only Chihuahua mamas are lucky enough to see.

12. We made some home improvements while you were out

These dogs are so excited to say ‘hi’ to their hoomans even though they might be in big trouble. The screen was there when they left, but it looks like they’ve been burgled and the dogs are swearing it wasn’t them. I mean, do they look guilty to you?

13. Boo!

What’s the fun in being a big dog if you can’t scare the living daylights out of the little dogs sometimes? This handsome fella just loves to spook his doggy neighbors before saying ‘hello’ and as far as we can see, there isn’t anything wrong with that.

18. Jumping high just to say ‘hi’

According to this dog’s owner, they just had to replace the fence in the picture with an 8-foot-tall fence. Why? Because their dog easily jumped this one just to say ‘hi’ to the neighbors.

19. SURPRISE!!!

Apparently, this is how this dog goes about grabbing his neighbor’s attention every morning. While he used to like to scoot out quick and bark to scare the daylights out of him, he’s since learned that he gets way more treats and head scratches if he creeps out slowly to say ‘hello’.

Huskies can be some pretty strange creatures sometimes, and this one just might take the cake. This is his most favorite way to say ‘hi’ to anyone he sees passing by his fence. The ultimate prankster just wants to trip you out like he’s the Cheshire dog, and his grin has us convinced that he just might be after all.
