We’ve all had bad days in the kitchen. Usually, it’s just a small spill or something, but sometimes, it’s a monumental mess. When those rare occasions happen, we can do one of two things. One is we despair and give up on cooking and call out of work tomorrow. The second is to take a picture because you know you will laugh about this later, then realize we ALL make messes.

Here are some of the best ones we could find!

1. The build-up and letdown

What makes me laugh so much about this photo is the expectation that we see. They are SO excited to have lasagna. Gonna have to order out, aren’t ya?

2. Just like the photos

We’ve all seen a photo of food from a fast food joint and been disappointed with what we unwrapped. This is like that but at home and for bakers. Maybe just call it abstract baking?

3. Cursed bread

If I saw this, I might wanna bring a priest in the house. These little dudes look like they are vomiting up all that filling. They were supposed to be smiley faces!

4. Scared the kids

Poor woman just wanted to make a cake for her friend’s daughter. This is the sad and scary result. Imagine this running at you full speed in the dark.

5. Instant-potsplosian

This is every pressure cooker user’s nightmare. Setting it and coming back to a literal bombshell being detonated in the house. This is a war zone, not a kitchen.

6. Left the caramel

Sugar browns really easy and can become flammable. You know how to make caramel? Just brown some sugar and some cream… but don’t forget about it, or you will end up with this.

7. Can’t quite see the problem

The baker couldn’t find a problem with this bread at all. Looked totally fine to him. Also, have you seen his glasses? He seems to have misplaced them and can’t figure out where they went.

8. Demon Monke

This is what happens when you try and recreate something you saw on Pinterest. Everything seems good, then the angry Pinterest demons are exorcised from your cake, and you end up with a Demon Monke.

9. Can you guess?

This might take a second, but can you tell what happened? This person tried to clean under the burner and forgot that it was still hot. They placed it on the cutting board, and the rest is history.

10. What did you expect?

Everyone knows that you need to use a pizza stone for a good crust. If you don’t have that, you can at least settle for a pizza pan, but straight on the rack? That’s bold.

11. Chocolate covered… wait, what?

These chocolate-covered bananas have a place in your life. Just make sure you aren’t in a public place, or you might get some unwanted attention. Only the truly pure-hearted can eat these and not laugh.

12. Remember option 1?

We told you there are two options when you make a mess. This is the literal interpretation of the first option. At least the cat is taking advantage of the surprise dinner.

13. Brownie in a cup

This looks like this brownie in a cup decided to stop for gas station sushi and then had some spicy tacos from a street vendor. When it finally exploded, it was lethal.

14. Just scrape off the burned bits

Poor guy got drunk, hungry, fell asleep, and woke up to this. At least he can scrape off the burned bits and eat what’s leftover, right?

15. Kill me now

For some baked creations, death is a mercy. This poor rabbit was bound to end up in the depths of non-existence, especially with eyes as frightening as that. Dear God.

16. Should be pretty simple

You can usually tell if someone is competent in the kitchen just from the way they hold certain tools. This person was probably relegated to “pasta cooker” and then somehow found a way to mess even that up.

17. Ice-cream truck vibes

Remember those ice-creams of Spongebob from the trucks that looked like he got ran over by the truck before he was placed in your hands? This is the baked equivalent of that.

18. NOT oven safe

This person wanted to make an innocent little spinach dip. Sounds cute, right? WRONG. They used a plastic container instead of a Pyrex one and are paying for it.

19. “I can cook!”

If you do this before you start cooking, you probably can’t cook. An occasional slip-up is totally fine, but if this is your NORMAL first step, find a new hobby.

20. A little fry oil

Frying in your home can be pretty dangerous if you don’t know what you are doing. All they wanted were some yummy buffalo wings. All they got was a fat insurance deductible.
