20 photos that prove that Nature will always prevail

Humans are pretty destructive when you think about it. We have to chop, saw, and dig our way into the earth in order to carve out room for ourselves. And even when we know that this destruction can be a bad thing, we just keep building bigger and more…things.

But every now and then Nature shows its real power over our steel, glass, and concrete. And, in the end, even the tiniest tree can push its way up through our strongest man-made materials.

Here are 20 examples of Nature’s true power:

1. Reconquering territory

Any abandoned place will quickly be taken back by the earth.

Not only will animals make their way in, but greenery will replace the carpet, cover the walls, and smash through the windows.

No take backs!

2. Through the cracks

This is a pretty majestic little tree finding its way up to the sun.

Even if we passed by it on the street or owned a house nearby, we’d be hard-pressed to remove it at this point.

Life finds a way …

3. Your roots are showing

Well, we’re pretty sure this tree proved who’s boss.

Humans can brick up the space around it and it will simply adapt.

4. Can’t keep me out

Well, so much for fences keeping things out.

This tree managed to grow right through the chain link.

It has a little scar to show for it, but it’s still thriving!

5. Exposing the coverup

All the effort and wallpaper paste couldn’t stop this little weed from making its way up the wall.

It has its own ideas about redecorating.

6. Swept away

If you’re going to abandon a whole village you should really make sure you don’t want it anymore.

7. Lockpicker

You can’t lock out Nature.

It’s already proven that it will find a way in.

8. Can’t stop, won’t stop

Trees don’t have to abide by traffic rules.

They’ll show you just what they think of all these roads and highways by eating the signage.

9. Colorful resistance

This abandoned train station looks absolutely beautiful.

Apparently, the flowers decided there had been just too much metal out there.

10. Ticket to nowhere

Speaking of abandoned train detritus, this whole train is in the process of being swallowed by greenery.

Pretty soon it’ll be Nature’s little secret.

11. Time to clean the tub

We get creeped out if a spider crawls out of our drain, so we’re not going to be able to unsee this!

12. Going green

It’s certainly not doing the masonry any favors, but we’re pretty sure the vines are improving the aesthetic here.

We’re just not sure if anyone lives there.

14. If a tree falls in the forest…

These trees weren’t about to let a fallen comrade go down without a salute.

This tree fell over and made 4 new trees ????

15. Hotel guests

Time to call housekeeping. These green guests are going to have to pay quite a cleaning fee if anyone ever comes back.

16. Nature takes the wheel

Something tells us no one is coming back for this vehicle.

It appears Nature has informally transferred the title.

17. Play me a tune

We think it’s only a matter of time before there are vines growing between the keys.

Maybe the trees were horrified by what their fellow forest-mate was turned into.

18. Nature’s bike lock

That’s a good way to make sure no one steals your bike.

It’s also a good way to make sure you can never ride it again.

This is beyond a little landscaping.

We’re pretty sure anyone who moves in is going to have to pay rent to Nature.

This house in Norway is now part forest.

At least the next tenant won’t have to go out for a Christmas tree.
