Whether it’s a storefront sign or a warning sign, some people really miss the mark.

Of course, sometimes a misinterpretation or a downright sarcastic personality can make a sign memorable. Other times it makes you wonder what on Earth people were thinking when they hung them up.

Here are 20 that have us amused and/or puzzled:

1. Keep your distance

Always give the right of way to this bus.

That’s not a roadside accident we want to be anywhere near.

2. A mistake you only make once

Take your emotional support grizzly elsewhere, these folks are tired of cleaning up the bodies.

And apparently bears poop in more places than the woods.

3. Hot and steaming

We’re pretty sure we know why people aren’t buying these funnel cakes.

Normally food looks BETTER on the sign.

Not this time.

4. Fix my glass

At least this play on words isn’t too vulgar.

Although we thought the pane was the glass.

5. Don’t they make a pill for that?

Frankly, this sounds like an uncomfortable business.

But if you need a miscellaneous steel erection (or 10), you know who to call.

6. One of these things doesn’t belong

There’s no rule against being a barista and a mechanic.

But we’re skeptical that both services will be top-notch.

7. Lost in translation

We’re not sure why this place isn’t more popular.

We’d love to see the menu.

8. That’s how we want them hung

Well, we certainly don’t want poorly hung doors.

Still, there’s no doubt these folks were trying to get a chuckle out of those who saw this sign.

9. We don’t want to know what that stands for

If your initials are STD, it’s better to just spell it out.

10. Poor Joe

We hope Joe left on his own two feet instead of in an ambulance.

It sounds like he needs another profession either way.

11. We’re gonna pass

We’re pretty sure we know what crabs they’re talking about here, but we’re going to go ahead and get ours elsewhere just in case.

12. There’s always one

Some people ruin it for everyone with their bad behavior.

Thanks for adding yet another camera to the surveillance state, mystery pooper!

13. G spot discovered

The elusive G spot has finally been located and there’s a nice big sign so you can’t miss it.

No more excuses!

14. Caller mis-ID

Well, that’s a heck of a mix-up!

Maybe that phone number should just be taken out of circulation.

15. Legal high

Well, lots of laws changed on January 1st, including some marijuana laws.

But these guys were selling a legal high all along.

16. If you can read this, don’t be an idiot

Do people really still need to be told to stay off the train tracks?

Apparently they do.

17. Prepare for compliments

We love this sign. We’d actually go to this salon just for the sign!

18. It’s already on sale

No need to wait for the price to change. Take is or leave it – the hard part has been done.

19. When a hot wife is a bad thing

You don’t want her leaving you for another A/C company, do you?

20. Someone had to say it

Well, they surely dealt with one too many aspiring pole dancers before they made this sign.

It’s easier to warn people ahead of time than to interrupt the performance.
