We’ve all seen animals act strangely on the internet or in our own homes. All these quirks are normal animal behavior.

The behavior of an animal is one way it communicates and interacts with other living organisms.

There is an entire sub-Reddit dedicated to “internet as an art.” It’s a sarcastic way of saying that strange and unusual things can be found on the internet. Weird can be cute or uncomfortable, depending on your perspective.

The sub-Reddit r/hmmm has a variety of photos and videos. A large part of their content features animals in all their bizarre glory.

Here are 20 animal photos from it that are unusual, mysterious, or just plain funny.

1. From various perspectives

Every one of us has a “best” angle. This cat has only recently discovered his because of man!

There is a HUGE difference between those two aspects.

2. Like in a horror movie

Depending on how you look at it, it can be frightening or amusing.

If you’ve seen the movie, you’d probably find this more terrifying than funny.

3. He likes big butts and is incapable of lying.

We’re not sure what’s going on here, but these hippos are having an awkward moment.

4. “Yep. This is how I won the race.”

The hare may hop around happily and take a commanding lead in the race.

But this tortoise knows his way around and knows where to take a shortcut.

5. Commissioned artwork

We think this crow will make a lot of money if he can paint for commissions with this art. These paintings will make wonderful gifts.

6. They might be related.

Pineapple and Porcupine. They may be related because they both have spikes.

That’s it! Duh!

7. Put on your mask

We understand that these are crazy times and that masks are required. This owner felt compelled to put a mask on her cat.

But, because it’s so large, she just drilled holes where the eyes should be.

8. “Who wants to go first?”

When you’re in a meeting and no one wants to speak up. So you look down or sideways to avoid having your name called out.

9. “Oh, reallyyy?”

We can all see the unusual marking on the wood that resembles a dog.

But this dog’s expression suggests that they’re spilling some tea on each other, and it’s very juicy.

10. Dobby isn’t he a free elf?

Fans of the Harry Potter series will recognize this image. This pair would be great for Halloween or Comi-con.

But didn’t Harry release Dobby? Is this Kreacher, or something else?

11. “I believe it is me.”

Seeing yourself on TV can be either humorous or repulsive. This dog, on the other hand, is probably more amused to see something so familiar on-screen.

He just doesn’t realize how close he is to reality.

12. Let me double-check it before you post it.

We’ve all got that one friend who checks our photos before posting them on social media. This fox is that friend of this photographer.

But we can assure you that there is nothing to be concerned about. Thousands of people will like that smile!

Is the old lady communicating with the squirrel via the old-lady puppet? We simply want to know.

Perhaps this is a new way of communicating with squirrels.

As the adage goes, “life imitates art.” This dog took it very seriously.

They believe that this tiger is the one.

At first glance, they appear to be the same animal. Then you’d realize they’re not the same thing.

We’re not sure if Captain America liked dogs, but he could use some love from this one.

This dog yet has no idea what’s going on.

20. Doggo received some distressing news, on the phone.

He’s happy one minute, and then he’s sad the next. It’s like when we’re waiting for a package to arrive only to find out it got lost along the way.
