On the internet, you’ll find a lot of interesting stuff and noteworthy images, but sometimes, it’s a bit difficult as a viewer to really determine the true scale of things. If you’ve ever heard of the sentence “banana for scale”, you know just how important the true scale of things can be, as it is sometimes very skewed.

We’ve compiled a list of twenty stunning images that allow you to see just how huge or tiny things can be, and we’re pretty sure that you won’t believe your own eyes sometimes. These aren’t Photoshopped in any way, but very real.

1) Now that’s a tall horse

It might make you wonder, how would you actually even begin to climb this huge beast? We’re pretty sure that you’re going to need a tall ladder and a bit of help, but at least the view up there will be amazing.

2) When crabs turn into monsters

You might think of crabs as these smaller pincher animals that only show up at the beach, but if you take a look at this photo, you might change your mind and consider them as monsters instead.

3) There’s a screw loose

If this isn’t the largest screw ever created, we don’t want to imagine what it would otherwise be. Makes you wonder what kind of tools you need to screw this one in.

4) Who said clovers have to be small?

It’s only the four-leaf clovers that are associated with being lucky, but that doesn’t make this discovery of huge clover plants any less interesting.

5) Less is more

There has been a trend over the past few years that increased the screen size of smartphones and mobile year after year, but sometimes, less is more. This tiny phone is completely operational and only measures 2.9 inches.

6) You don’t want to come across this snake

It’s a good thing that not every anaconda snake out there is as huge as this one, or a lot of more people would develop a phobia. It took no less than 10 grown men to carry this big snake.

7) They don’t make ’em like they used to

8) Coconuts

These aren’t walnuts, they’re actually really tiny coconuts, you can even see the white meat on the inside. If these fall on top of your head, you’ll be happy it wasn’t a regular coconut.

9) Now that’s just scary

Unfortunately, there are some pesky animals out there that really don’t need a size increase, but they exist nonetheless. Meet the Holorusia mikado mosquito, with an average wingspan of 4,3 inches.

Cat pictures and adorable, they just go together flawlessly. This super tiny and fluffy kitten, however, definitely wins some extra cuteness points. Fits right in the palm of your hand!

11) Not all babies are alike

The bay on the left is actually your average-sized baby, but the one on the right is one of the biggest babies ever born, weighing in at 23 lbs.

12) World’s largest parrot

Large animals don’t always have to be scary! The Hyacinth Macaws are the largest kind of parents in existence, and it sure looks like they’ve got the biggest hearts too.

13) Identical amount

On the left side, we see a small stack of bills, and on the other side, there’s an absolute mountain of bills. The kicker? They both amount to $10,000. One stack is made out of a hundred dollar bills, while the other is full of $1 ones.

You might not think they’re cute when they’re fully grown up, but these six-day-old baby mice are certainly quite adorable.

17) Monster squid

A squid the size of two grown-up adults? That’s not exactly something you see everything. The poor animal was found on this beach, completely lifeless.

18) Tiny crab

We’ve already covered the monster crabs in this list, but it turns out there’s a much cuter species of crabs too! He looks adorable and is even smaller than your phalanx.

19) Anybody home?

There’s only one option: these huge doors were made for giants. The full-grown human right there just shows the true, massive scale of these doors.

20) Taking a trip down memory lane

Nowadays, you can find microSD cards carrying a whopping terabyte of data the size of your fingernail, but it certainly wasn’t always that efficient to store digital information. This single hard drive platter in the image was used in a 10 MB hard drive from the 1960s.
