Even though we all know that German Shepherds can’t speak to us in a way that we understand, there’s a pretty high chance that they do have some things they wish they could say. German Shepherds watch their humans all day and they want to be able to communicate with us too!

While your German Shepherd probably seems like they act in strange ways sometimes, chances are, they’re just looking to communicate with you better. True to their loyal, smart, and loving personalities, we came up with a list of all the things they probably wish they could make you understand.

1. No I promise, there is definitely room for me on the bed too.

2. Could you scooch over a little bit? I need more room to stretch my legs on this bed.

3. Do you need a hand with that dinner? I bet you do.

4. Don’t leave me here alone while you go in that car!

5. I put my butt so close to you so you know to pet above my tail now.

6. I love when you follow me around while I go to the bathroom, and it’s hilarious when you clean up after me.

7. Why bother hiding anything from me? You know I have the best nose in this family.

8. What are those creatures doing in our trees? They look like a fluffy ambush!

9. Don’t worry, I will protect you from all harm.

10. I must investigate every package and delivery that comes in this house.

11. Throw my ball again! And again! And Again! Isn’t this game fun?

12. No I promise, I don’t need to go to the vet. I’m feeling great! Sure I had a tummy ache last night, but I’m feeling better already! Please don’t take me to the vet.

13. I bet I would like that steak more than you do.

14. Please don’t go to work today. What will I do all day without you?

15. You know what? I think I should just come into work with you today.

16. Banging my bowl on the floor and pushing it around with my nose means that I want more food.

17. I need more things to chew on, or I might have to resort to your favorite shoes.

18. Don’t do anything unless I make sure it’s safe first. It’s my number 1 job to protect you.

19. I missed you so much and I thought about you all day when you were gone.

20. I love you so much and all I want is to see you happy.

They may sometimes seem like they’re not making any sense, but really, they just want to love you.

German Shepherds are loyal pets who just want to love and be loved by you. While chasing all the squirrels out of the yard might not seem like an act of love to you, to them they just protected and guarded the house. Additionally, these pups are smart enough to know when you’re taking them to the vet or leaving them alone for a long time. Although you can’t stop doing that altogether, at least you know that them missing you is just a sign of their love for you.
