How much money have you spent on your cat only to find them playing with the box or bag your gift came in?

How many beds have you bought that are nice and fluffy and seemingly inviting only to have them reject your offering altogether and sit on the cold, hard floor?

These 20 cats couldn’t care less about kind human gestures. They’ll do what they want.

1. Worst bed ever

Guess someone should have left the instruction manual next to this cat scratcher.

That position looks really uncomfortable.

2. I’ll suffer, thanks

Oh, you don’t want your cat sleeping on your chair so you decided to get clever and put the cat bed on it to contain the fur?

Nice try, sucker.

3. I hate it

This cat got a nice water fountain to drink out of.

But it would rather knock over its human’s water instead and lick what’s left.

Maybe they bought the wrong color.

4. Don’t tell me how to use it

Did you want to give your kitten a nice, safe place to hide away?

Well, apparently it wanted to be up higher.

5. It’s time to give up

This cat is not a fan of its new bed.

In fact, we’re not even sure it likes the hole the human cut in the front to make it easier to get in and out.

6. Is this a joke?

This cat is looking at its owner like “Do you think it’s cute to make me walk into a shark’s mouth? Am I a joke to you?”

Well, the joke’s on the humans. Now they just have a useless plush shark decorating their house.

7. The stash

If you’ve ever owned a hair tie, cat, and couch, this will be a familiar sight.

No matter how many toys we buy them, we always find their secret stash of cheap favorites any time we move the furniture.

8. Thanks for the shade

Guess this cat didn’t want to be up higher (or maybe it wanted to be up MUCH higher).

Either way, this kind gesture was a fail.

9. Is it for my butt?

To be fair, you can’t expect a cat to immediately know how to use something a human invented.

At least he’s close!

10. That’s not my water

Not only did this human buy their cat a separate fountain so it could have water whenever it wanted, they even put it up on the counter NEAR the sink so Fluffy here would get the hint.

She didn’t get the hint.

11. Thanks mom!

This cat looks so happy that someone finally got that carpeted trash out of its brand new box!

12. What baby?

Maybe if you put the baby in the cat bed things will eventually work themselves out.

13. Caution

So much for the warnings that come with plastic bags.

Hey, at least the cat likes part of the gift.

14. What’s this monstrosity?

That’s quite a climbing tower!

Maybe it’s a better idea to unpack it outside and bring the pieces in one by one, allowing the cat to get in the way the whole time.

Otherwise, they just think that you’re emptying a box for them.

15. That’s cold

What a turd.

Look at that nice, soft bed that he or she is willing to sit right next to but not in!

16. New construction

Don’t you hate when you have a nice view and then someone builds new condos right in front of it?

This cat looks like it’s ready to take it up with the town council.

17. So rude

Well, first of all, you have to put the cat bed on the dryer where it gets warm. Rookie mistake.

But we can’t help but laugh at this cat who is willing to sleep in a crappy dustpan right next to the human offering of friendship.

18. It’s hideous

Well, to be fair, it’s clearly meant for a dog since it has bones on it.

The cat is probably just insulted.

19. The gift of no thanks

This cat can’t wait until their dumb human moves whatever that is out of the good part of the box.

20. Close enough

Well, that’s about as close as we’re going to get when it comes to cats appreciating their gifts.

At least they’re using the beds, even if they’re not sleeping in them.
