Many of us have been forced to get creative with unexpected free time these last few months while under quarantine – and we’ve realized that odd things amuse us.
When we get bored for long periods of time – whether at home or at work – our brains can convince us some pretty random stuff, from demented redecorating to bizarre art projects.
Here are 20 people whose boredom took them to some extra-strange places:
1. Lace it up
Do you know where lace doesn’t belong? Anywhere near the toilet.
When you go to redecorate your bathroom, try using a more washable fabric – unless you’re so bored you just want to sew some new lacy ruffles every few weeks.
2. How many calories are in North America?
This seems like a real waste of chips.
Then again, there’s no reason you can’t eat the world one piece at a time.
We’re not sure what possesses a person to undertake such a project, but it makes for a funny photo!
3. Clip art
Even those of us who have to go into work get bored.
This binder clip sculpture is a testament to why we might consider shortening the workday to increase actual productivity.
4. Strawberry skincare
Wow, that’s next level.
De-seeding a strawberry like this not only requires top-tier boredom but some serious patience as well.
5. A waste of White-Out
Apparently, this little art project had the blessing of this worker’s boss – AND she’s the one who took the photo.

Well, we have to admit – we approve.
