In 2020, there’s so much to be scared of. Even trees are after you, if these ones are anything to go by.

It’s so easy to forget that trees are living beings. After all, they just stand there, doing very little all day and night. But these trees really want you to know that they’re alive. And not only are they alive. They exist seemingly to scare the living daylights out of you.

1. Those red dots, just like eyes

What are they? Did someone put those on? Are they two leaves that fell? Are they its actual eyes?

2. It’s lucky that that fence is between the photographer and the tree

Some say it looks like The Grinch. Others say it is The Grinch.

It’s clearly thinking, “How did I turn from rock to wood?”

4. Creepy, but it also looks like the tree has a bad case of indigestion

People say that it looks like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, but that makes it even less creepy than if it had indigestion.

I feel like calling Child Protective Services on this photographer. Yes, for them letting their child hug a creepy tree.

There’s a Hobbit on its back.

7. This is creepier than anything in the Blair Witch Project

There’s clearly some pagan stuff going on here.

8. That’s the face the last person who touched the tree made as it absorbed him

Or maybe the tree’s just shocked at the cost of parking in that parking lot?

That face would look at home on a pumpkin.

If you chop the tree down, that face will always haunt you.

This feels like it should be not safe for work, until you remember that it’s just a tree.

Now you know where owls go in the daytime. They merge into trees. It was always so obvious!

And just when you thought it couldn’t get more creepy, you notice that there’s a gravestone in the image.

20. How many people have got paranoia from this tree?

Fun fact, those eyes only appear at night!
