20 women who embraced their greys and look absolutely beautiful

We often associate graying hair with the unwelcomed passage of time. It starts with a few locks, then one day, every root of your hair is a paler hue than the rest. This is one of the changes that our bodies undergo as we age, so the urge to cover it up becomes more prominent as the years pass. But that doesn’t always have to be that way.

Take these amazing women, for example. Their locks might be fading but they’re still in the perfect condition to be rocked out. Curly, long, short, or bobbed, these women embrace their age and the beauty that comes along with it.

1. Get rid of that unevenness

Maybe we wanted to get rid of our natural hair color. Maybe we wanted to hide the grays when we aged. Through all those changes, our hairs become a mixture of palettes that makes it a bit uneven. But brush it with the salt and pepper hue and see how it beautifully falls down on the side of her face.

2. Frizzle-frazzle

At one point, our hair becomes wiry as well. It makes us look older than we actually are. The color-changing roots aren’t helping either. But now, her layered silver locks made her hair look healthier. Which in turn, made her look younger.

3. Why not pull the curtains

No matter how much you try and push it back, the whites and the grays are just going to keep on coming. So why not welcome it instead? Having silver locks can still be a lot fashionable, you know?

4. Tri-color mess

She came in with brassy ends, a very dark middle tone, and her beautiful 4-inch roots. This woman’s beautiful crown will not fit all three colors so she might as well choose the best one.

5. Unkempt to unbothered

As we age, we prioritize ourselves less and other people more. While she tried to maintain her brass locks, time caught up with her eventually. Why don’t we just take the “maintenance” out of the equation and commit to the natural course? Fresh, elegant, and chic!

6. Worth the flight

The stylist shared how this woman journeyed all the way from Atlanta just to get her hair done. A few trimmings, a lot of styling, and 8 hours later, her hair transformed into a gorgeous silver veil.

8. It’s all about support

Stylist Jack Martin shared how other stylists are against the silver-haired movement. They said it will hurt the hairstyling industry. But Martin insisted that the greying change is inevitable. It’s better to support how their clients embrace themselves rather than lose them entirely. This client gets in for color every 3 to 4 weeks but she still decided to stay after this gorgeous make over.

9. A lot of work

Her hair took in a lot of beating from the “color yourself” products. So now, her hair wasn’t matching her roots very well. Martin wasn’t fazed, though. How, she’s enjoying a hairstyle that’s blending perfectly with her salt and pepper roots.

10. Build, then paint

This beautiful lady had enough of the routine coloring, especially when her gorgeous snow-capped roots are glowing on her crown. She had her hair trimmed, then colored — like building a house, then painting it. But this time, the snow-tinted hair will be staying for good.

11. Two-tone chic

Sometimes, our silver hues don’t grow evenly. This woman has a lot of whites on her front hairline, but that doesn’t mean that the silver lining life isn’t for her. The stylist blended the rest of her hair into a light mix of salt and pepper, then styles her front hairline so it can frame her beautiful face perfectly.

12. Pinstripes meant business

This woman stepped into the shop with her streaked blonde hair but stepped out with an entirely different style. Her hair was growing several inches of blacks, grays, and whites. So the perfect solution is to blend them all together in a striking stripes ensemble.

13. Fire and Ice

Her fabulous ginger hair had its best days but it was obviously time to make room for the icy locks. Instead of recoloring her hair with the reds that she grew up with, this woman embraced her age and the beauty that came along with it.

14. Dunk the box

With box dyes being easily available, it’s tempting to keep our hair “looking young”. But in reality, it can tire out our locks and make them look dry and unhealthy. Why not regain your vibrant hair by choosing your natural color?

15. Red to silver

She has been coloring her hair almost regularly just to keep her red hair at pace with the growing whites. But the process has proved to be tiring so she opted to finally blend it all together. It might not be as fiery as before, but she still oozes with beauty and confidence with that sliver crown.

16. What a transformation

This client flew all the way from Hawaii and had to sit with Martin for a total of 12 hours. The result? A gorgeous blend of silver-blonde and natural gray. She did this so she would stop coloring her hair. And with locks like that, you wouldn’t want a darker shade.

17. Remarkable difference

She came in with her hair looking all washed up and unblended. After four hours of being under the chair, she looked five years younger with this fresh salt and pepper look. The difference is just astounding.

18. Resist the box dye

We often resist the process of aging by coloring our hairs artificially. This takes us into a cycle of regular coloring. Eventually, it would be difficult for us to cover those greys for good. But what if there’s no need to cover it up? She might be all silver but it suits her really well.

19. The difference between black and white

Martin said this was by far the hardest project he had to take. His client wanted him to blend her hair to grey after years of coloring it black. While the process took forever, the results are worth the wait.

20. A different kind of grey

This client drove all the way from Salt Lake City to ditch the box for good. Her hair is naturally red so she was coloring it regularly with a similar tone. When it became too tedious, she finally embraced her strawberry hinted silver locks. And we have to say, that different kind of grey definitely hits the mark.
