She didn’t hesitate to steal the hearts of the masses when she recently appeared in a virtual agricultural show.

The Greatest Online Agricultural Show made its debut online on May 2, aiming to bring the show to the homes of avid farm lovers while quarantined at home. The show worked to raise money for farming charities in the U.K.

James Rebanks, an author, farmer, and judge, posted a clip of the contest to Twitter, highlighting a particularly adorable section of the competition.

He noted that he had “spent the last hour judging the online sheep show” and “the young handlers under 8 class was the cutest thing” he had ever seen.

Perhaps the cutest? Young Barley and her pet sheep Ethel.

Rebanks commented:

“What a fantastic ambassador little Barley is (and Ethel) for British farming.”

He backed his praise up with a video of the sweet 3-year-old handling the sheep.

The sheep dwarfs her in the most loving of ways, but she keeps her composure to show it off.

Sellar is daughter to farmer Caitlin Jenkins in Norfolk, England. The family has around 200 sheep on their farm which they’ve raised their daughter around her entire life. She already possesses the traits of an excellent handler at just the age of three!

The mother-daughter team are no strangers to competing in various agricultural events, but the 2020 season was canceled due to rising concerns of the pandemic. Instead of completely forgoing the show, they moved it online to a virtual format to keep the spirit alive.

The family made the video to enter their daughter Barley into the contest. In the video, she handles an adult Border Leicester sheep named Ethel.

The video was submitted to James Rebanks, one of the livestock judges, for his review. It was a submission he couldn’t keep to himself! He posted the video to Twitter where it instantly went viral.

Viewers and followers delighted in the share, noting how precious the little girl was next to her sheep. The video features Barley’s mother questioning her about Ethel. Your heart will surely melt when you hear her responses.

No sooner does Ethel nudge the girl as if to signal that it’s time to go for a walk. And it’s the cutest walk you’ve ever seen!

One Twitter user commented:

“Oh please please can you give us more videos of this. Felt my spirits start to rise there for the first time in weeks.”

Instant fans were made, with love pouring in from every direction. Some users didn’t even hesitate to create fan art of the little girl and her pet sheep.

Her mother revealed to TODAY:

“Ethel is the oldest sheep in the flock, she’s very kind and has a good friendship with Barley,” Jenkins added. “Barley loves nothing more than to be outside with us farming, she is very hands on and gets stuck in come rain or shine.”

If anything, Barley and Ethel offer us a sweet reminder that life and love are abundant even through the darkest of times.
