Having a dream house is something that many of us, well, dream of! But what is a dream house without people to enjoy it with? Meet this group. Seven best friends who all pitched in to buy and renovate the house for their future.

These seven friends wanted to spend time together, so they decided to build a house!

“It was just a joke that we would get together when we were 60 and live together”

And that’s exactly what they did! Meeting twenty years ago, the group formed a special bond of friendship. Their bond got stronger and stronger over the years through joy, pain, and the journey of life. As they grew in friendship, it was a running joke that they would all end up spending their retirement together.

From joke to dream.

After joking for a while, they decided to get serious about their plans! Looking in the city of Guangzhou, they wanted something in the suburban perimeter, further from the city.

“Girls shouldn’t have to wait 30 years!”

Knowing that they didn’t want to wait 30 years to live their dream, they started the process of looking for a place to build.

Outside of a quaint village, they found a possible location. Taking only an hour to reach from the main city, their dream was closer to reality than ever before.

Arriving at the possible location, they were stunned by its beauty.

“Curling smoke from chimneys, paddy fields in front of us”

The beauty of the place was different than the city life they were used to. It was beautiful.

Purchasing the house and property, they began their journey of building a new home.

The house was a run-down brick building. It was more of an eyesore than anything. Due to its reputation and looks, the girls were able to buy and remodel the entire building for only $580,000! When you divide that seven ways it is about $82,000 per friend. That’s a pretty good deal!

The new space is absolutely stunning.

Towering over the field at three stories high, the glass and metal building is a modern beauty amidst the green surrounding it.

Sporting floor-to-ceiling windows around the entire property, the entire thing is flooded with light. Through the glass, you can see the mist and sunrise each day over the rice fields. The entire thing is a contrasting beauty of greens from the fields and white from the walls.

Designed for comfort, simplicity, and individual function.

The house includes a few specialty common areas. There is a common area, tea pavilion, pool, and a huge dining room for when everyone is home! Each of the friends has their own room with a special design. That special design is dependent upon that friend’s tastes and passion. They joke that each specializes in a specific craft to stop them from arguing when they get older.

Only in their 30’s, the friends plan on spending more time there as their kids grow up and move out.

Totaling 7,535 square-feet, this is a home that is beautiful to look at and is ready to accommodate a lot of people. These friends have a get-away that they can frequent as needed.

Looking at what ladies did, maybe we need to set some goals with our friends! I wouldn’t mind a dream house with my friends a few years from now.
