75 Kids Prove Parenting Isn’t Easy
Something that new parents learn very quickly is that parenting never stops. Kids are constantly finding new ways of misbehaving and getting into trouble. It’s your job to manage the little rascals and keep them under control. Sometimes that means playing dress-up with them. Other times it simply means cleaning up after them.
If one thing is for sure though, it’s that the minute you let your guard down is the minute some kind of messy accident will happen. That’s what these 75 photos prove.
Being a parent is not easy, so if you are lucky enough to have a couple of toddlers in the house currently, be proud of yourself. Reward yourself by taking a quick nap and catching up on some much-needed sleep. Don’t get too comfortable though, because whenever you wake up you’re guaranteed to have a new disaster awaiting.
1. Dress Up
Sometimes you have to play dress-up with your kids to keep them entertained. This man’s daughter loves when he wears hair bows with her. We have to say, they both look absolutely fabulous.
2. Nap Time
Parents need nap time just as much as the toddlers do. Even when you are completely exhausted, your kid will still be full of energy. Then when they finally go to sleep, it’s 6:00 AM and time for you to go to work.
3. Catching Some Z’s
The sleeping thing is pretty much a universal parent problem. This guy couldn’t care less that his baby is passed out on his head, as long as he gets to pass out too. They are both so tired.
4. Drink Choices
Kids always want soda, but as a parent, it’s your job to convince them to try something healthier instead. It’s easier said than done. You might have to go to extreme measures such as filling up Fanta cans with apple juice.
5. Dinner Time
A table is a table, right? The daughter certainly looks pleased that her dad is eating with her at her little pink dinner table. They were even joined by one of the daughter’s friends — a tiny stuffed animal.
6. Sibling Warfare
It’s an image that captures parent life perfectly. There is always some sort of exciting drama going on. The girl looks innocent enough, but somehow we can’t help but think that she was probably the mastermind behind this fight.
7. Personal Time
As a parent, there is no such thing as personal time. If you want to get your me-time in, you’re going to have to compromise. This dad had to let his daughter paint his nails to distract her long enough for him to play his video games.
8. Bed Sharing
Just in case you were wondering, this is what sleeping with a four-year-old looks like. At first, it sounds endearing that your kid would want to share the bed you. Then reality sets in.
9. Fun With Markers
If you’re going to encourage your child to be artistic, be prepared to live with the consequences. Every surface in the house could potentially become a canvas. That includes the dog!
10. Surprising New Friends
Kids have the uncanny ability of making friends with anyone. You never know who they might come walking through the front door with. Even other species are a very real possibility.
11. Swing Sets
This dad is willing to do whatever it takes to keep his daughter happy — even if it means using his own body as part of a homemade piece of playground equipment. She wanted a swing set. She got a swing set.
12. Art Projects
Kids are full of creative energy. However, the energy doesn’t always manifest itself in the most ideal of ways. This father let his child use his laptop. When he got it back, it was significantly more beautiful than it was before.
13. Family Pictures
It’s understandable that they would want to get a family picture together. Taking it wasn’t as easy as they originally thought it would be. The final photo is a pretty accurate representation of family life though.
14. Loud Noises
Babies are loud. This dad has a decibel meter reading to prove it. Official recommendations state that any environment with noise levels above 85 decibels requires earplugs. The child’s crying hit 109.7.
15. Tattoos
This young girl is practicing for her future career as a tattoo artist. The sleeping dad has no idea. He is in for a pleasant surprise when he wakes up. It’s better than what the college kids draw on each other at keg parties though.
16. Board Games
Playing one board game at a time wasn’t enough to satisfy this toddler. He gets bored super easily. While his mom was showering he decided to take all of the games they own out of the boxes to give them a test run.
17. Good Morning
This is exactly what every dad wants to wake up to first thing in the morning — their kid standing on their head. While it looks like kind of a painful experience, we aren’t going to lie, it’s pretty funny.
18. Experimenting
Being a kid is about trying new things. You have to learn about all the items in your environment and how the world works. Today, this kid learned all about the various uses for Nesquik.
19. Butt Cream
It’s not just any cream that the kid applied all over his face, it’s butt cream. We imagine that doing so probably goes against the instructions included on the back of the label.
20. Weddings
Kids are hard enough to deal with in a regular setting. Bringing them to a wedding is upping the challenge level a bit. It’s basically a total nightmare. The best you can hope for is that they only make a little scene instead of a big one.
21. Upgrading Old Electronics
He decided to upgrade the TV in the home by applying some beauty products to it. It looks much better this way. At least his parents don’t have to worry about the kid consuming too much television now.
22. Bathroom Spying
Once you become a parent, privacy is pretty much a thing of the past. That’s what this mom found out when she went to the bathroom and left the door cracked open. She got a hilarious little surprise.
23. Dad Chair
This dad had no idea that becoming a father meant becoming a chair too. However, that’s exactly what happened. With a slight adjustment to his posture, he’s even able to support two toddlers at once.
24. Laser Pointers
You know how cats love chasing laser pointers when you shine them on the floor or wall? Well, it turns out it works on toddlers too. Whether tricking a kid like this is good parenting or not is up to each parent to decide for themselves.
25. Accidents
One thing you’ll learn quickly as a parent is that accidents happen. If it can happen it will. Even things that you thought were impossible before, like getting snared by a kitchen drawer, are entirely in the realm of possibilities.
26. Visiting Restaurants
You probably thought that there was only one way to sit down at a restaurant. However, if that’s the case, you thought wrong. That’s what this family found out recently when they were trying to enjoy a nice dinner out.
27. Don’t Tell Mom
Mom has no idea about the mess waiting for her on her back. Any minute now, she will realize what happened. The baby can’t help it though. Vomiting is just what babies do.
28. Cleaning Books
It’s kind of ironic that a “Babyproofing Your Marriage” book was placed underwater in the sink by the baby. The toddler was just trying to help though. He saw the book needed to be cleaned so he rinsed it off.
29. Makeup
This daughter is having a grand old time experimenting with beauty products. Girls have to learn how cosmetics work eventually anyway. What better way to practice than by dolling up Dad.
30. Christmas Nap
We don’t blame Santa for falling asleep. He has a pretty exhausting job. Not only does he have to check his list, but he has to check it twice! Then he has to fly all over the world dropping off presents. It’s a lot of work for one man.
31. Potty Training
This is what it looks like when potty training goes wrong. Kids are basically born not knowing how to do anything. You have to teach them everything and a lot of it is largely trial and error.
32. Ketchup Spill
Being a parent is a learning process too. You might even have to relearn how to do basic things like eating. That’s what happened to this dad. He had a little ketchup accident while trying to eat his burger.
33. Road Maps
If you happen to fall asleep in the middle of the day, don’t be surprised if your kids decide to use you as a play mat. This dad makes for the perfect track to run matchbox cars across. His shirt even has roads drawn on it.

The fact that your baby won’t stop crying might just make you want to start crying too. It’s no surprise really. Life is hard and sometimes you just have to let it all out.

Every family needs a pet whether that means a dog, cat, hamster, or even just a fish. Kids love playing with the loving animals. The dog in this photo is pretty confused though. He didn’t know they were switching roles for the day.
39. Reorganizing
The boy thought that the magazines looked much better in the toilet than in the magazine rack sitting next to it. The mom can at least take solace in the fact that he didn’t discover the flush handle yet.

This picture is pretty self-explanatory. It shows a kid having a lot of fun with paint. A lot of messy fun that is. She got paint on the table, the chair, her apron, and her face!
41. Trying New Foods
It was her first time eating spaghetti and it seems as though she really enjoyed it. Although, next time, we would recommend using a spoon or fork. It’s easier to get the noodles and sauce into your mouth that way.
42. Bathroom Games
Here we have another toddler who thought throwing things in the toilet was a good idea. Making matter worse, this one discovered the flush handle. They turned the bathroom into a mini disaster zone.
43. Two Twins Playing
They are competing to see who the best twin is and only one can win. Currently, the twin that is on top crushing the other twin with a painting is in the lead. Although, at this point, it’s still anyone’s game.
44. Taking A Bath
The kid discovered that if you cover yourself in paint and markers and jump in the tub, it changes the color of the water. The dad doesn’t look too amused by the discovery. His face has seen better days.
45. Trying On Clothes
Kids love playing dress-up. Don’t be surprised if you come home one day to find them digging through your wardrobe. Even while you are still wearing your clothes and are out in public, the kids might attempt to try them on.
46. Paint Fight
The fight between the two brothers turned into an epic battle with paints. Just like good little soldiers going to war with each other. They are both very camouflaged now.
47. Kids Being Kids
They realized that every pillow and couch cushion contains fluffy stuffing inside and couldn’t resist taking it out and throwing it everywhere. The room is now just one big sea of polyester.
48. Peanut Butter
It’s peanut butter jelly time in this household. Or maybe just peanut butter time. We’re not sure. It’s apparent though that the sandwich-making process didn’t go exactly as planned.
49. Hitman Baby
The baby doesn’t take joy in his job as a hitman, but work is work. His stone-cold demeanor says everything that needs to be said. When he gets a name, he follows through. Even if it is his own dad.
50. Flour Storm
They created a literal snowstorm of flour in the living room. It all started when they got their hands on a full bag of Gold Medal. It ended in a giant avalanche of white powder that covered everything in the room.
51. Fish Tanks
When you’re a toddler, a fish tank is practically a full-sized swimming pool. That’s what this little guy discovered. Fish tanks even come with a built-in air hose so you can breathe while you swim underwater.
52. Bowl Of Soup
“What did I do?” the baby wonders. He raises his hands questioningly. He sees nothing wrong with the messy situation. That is just how he eats soup.
53. Waking Up
Who needs an alarm clock when you have these two little human alarms to wake you up? There is no way you’re going to be able to keep sleeping when they starting jumping on you.
54. Falling In
It’s not easy for a small toddler to sit on a toilet seat. It’s part of the reason why potty training is so challenging. Often times, it ends in the youngsters diving into the lovely toilet water.
55. Work In Progress
Don’t interrupt her. She is working on a masterpiece and incredibly focused. The red and purple bath paints need to be smeared just right or the whole project will all be for nothing. Luckily, she has a toy dolphin to assist her with the careful work.
56. Interior Decorator
Getting the design right in a room is not an easy job, but someone has to do it. We feel like this child’s use of the color blue was a little excessive though. It wouldn’t hurt to add a couple of other crayon colors to the decorations to mix things up.
57. Team Vomit
When one loses the contents of her stomach, the other is sure to follow. At least the dad was able to catch a small portion of the green sludge in his hand though. It really helped a lot.
58. Wrestling
Kids love wrestling — with the pets, with each other, with anyone. However, if they choose to go up against Dad, they might have a problem. He is very strong and hard to beat.
59. Spider Boy
There is nothing quite like celebrating the new Spider Man movie by dressing up in costume. The silly string gun adds a really nice touch. Although, the parent probably would have preferred if the kid didn’t shoot it off in the car.
60. Roasting Marshmallows
Normally, marshmallows are roasted outdoors over an open campfire. However, the kids were craving Smores and found a creative solution — using the stove. A flaming marshmallow outside is no problem, but indoors it’s a bit of an issue.
61. Switching Roles
There is something wrong with this photo. The kid switched roles with the mom! The mom is playing with the giant LEGOs and the kid is messing around editing pictures on the computer.
62. Air Travel
A parent sees an airplane floor and immediately thinks of how dirty it probably is. A kid sees an airplane floor and sees a nice place to take a nap — face down, too.
63. Playing With Sharpies
This would actually make for a really cool Halloween costume. It’s like a cross between a vampire and a zombie outfit. We can’t imagine the Sharpie ink tastes very good though.
64. Toilet Paper
This kid is learning quick. Toilet paper is a whole lot of fun. Just wait until he figures out how exciting it is to throw it in the neighbor’s trees in a couple of years.
65. Carry Me
“Carry me” is a phrase you’ll hear pretty much constantly once you have kids. This dad got a two for one deal. One monkey hangs on the front while the other claws his way up Dad’s back.
66. Daring Escape
The toddler was attempting to make a run for it by escaping through the vent. He didn’t get very far before getting caught though. Look at that hilarious guilty face!
67. Raiding The Pantry
The kids discovered all kinds of fun food items in the pantry to play with. The most exciting find was a big tub of chocolate icing. It tastes amazing and works great as paint too.
68. Eggs Are Fun
Here we have another kid who loves playing with food items. Instead of the pantry though, this one raided the fridge. The end result was 18 extra-large eggs splattered everywhere.
69. Snack Time
This little boy found a bag of tasty Nacho Cheese Doritos to enjoy. He even made up a fun game to play while snacking. For every Dorito he eats, he crushes another ten and drops them in his lap.
70. Dad Is Pleased
He woke up to an art project in progress going on. Not only did he find himself covered in markers, but they even applied some cute stickers to his forehead. The two boys are all smiles about it.
71. Shopping
Shopping changes big time when you have a kid. It’s a get in and get out affair. When a kid has too much idle time in a store, you’re bound to have something like this happen. The boy spread the display out everywhere.
72. Tasty Tampon
It’s pretty gross, but luckily the tampon was brand new. According to the baby, it’s just as good as a pacifier. Kids will put anything in their mouth if left unsupervised. Even feminine hygiene products.
73. Cake Mix
After watching mom make a cake in the kitchen, she figured she would teach herself how to bake too. “How hard can it be?” she thought. Things definitely got kind of messy.
74. Hair Remover Wax
It’s one thing painting the walls with food products, but hair remover wax? That is not going to be a fun one for this mom to clean up. Things could have gone much worse though. Imagine if he got it in his hair. They would have had to shave him bald.
75. Wall Climbing
When you have kids, your entire house becomes a jungle gym. Kids are essentially wild animals. Let them loose for a few minutes and they will run around and climb all over everything.
