They say that age is just a number. And for this 84-year-old retirement home resident, clothing exists just to make a statement.

When you reach the ripe old age of 84, how do you plan to live your life? This lady knows that she wants to make a statement in any way she can.

When she heard that her retirement home was having a Halloween party, she knew that she had to stand out. So she got online and looked at a wide range of costumes. Eventually, she found something that was too good to pass up, a long shirt/dress that made the wearer look like they were wearing a skimpy bikini.

She ordered the item and hoped that it would arrive in time for Halloween.

When the package came, she was overjoyed. She put it on and couldn’t believe how effective the illusion was.

Then she headed down to the lounge, where the party was being held.

First, one head turned, then another and then another. Soon, all the residents and their guests were staring open-mouthed at the old lady.

Everyone present thought that it was hilarious. They applauded their fellow resident and told her that she sure did have a great sense of humor.

But the appreciation went much further than the retirement home, thanks to social media.

The lady’s daughter, Staci Clemmer, took some videos and photos of her mother in her Halloween costume and uploaded them to Facebook.

In no time at all, the post went viral. The video in the post alone has gained over 12 million views. The overall post has gained more than 9,300 comments and 91,000 shares. People have been saying things like this:

The video shows Staci’s mom dancing around the retirement home without a care in the world. Residents cheer at her, encouraging her to keep on partying.

If this is what she’s like at 84, just imagine what she was like at 24? Clearly, she is and always has been a fun-loving person.

Some people worry that as they age, they will lose their fun side. Staci’s mom shows that this doesn’t have to be the case.

Yes, we will all change as we age, but that doesn’t mean that we have to lose our sense of humor.

In times like these, we need content like this. Yes, we’re going through a global crisis. But do you think that Staci’s mom is panicking? No, she’s making the most of her circumstances.

The residents of her retirement home may have to spend a little more time alone, but all that means is that she has more time to research the next costume when the problem goes away!

So we should all be like Staci’s mom. Listen to the advice, be safe and use this time as an opportunity to plan for the future. That’s much better than panicking.
