When you feel like you need something for that pain, it usually just requires a quick trip to the pharmacist. You might need a prescription, of course.

This pharmacist here sees plenty customers in her time. Most of them are dogs!

Turkish pharmacist Banu Cengiz has quite a few dogs that always hang by her store.

All the dogs are homeless. Cengiz can’t adopt them herself, but she’s happy to host their company whenever they need it.

I’m sure her pharmacy is a bit of a home to them now too.

Most of what the dogs do is just sit back and lounge on the little beds she made for them. Naturally, dogs attract other dogs. More showed up, seeing that the place was happy to host them outside.

But it was when a new dog showed up that this adorable story began.

A dog she hadn’t seen before came up to her pharmacy.

Cengiz, having been around the dogs for a while, knew this dog was new. But why was it here?

The dog paid no attention to the beds. It instead sat and looked at her expectantly.

She immediately wondered why. This doggy came briskly through the front door, and another dog greeted her.

Strangely, the new dog didn’t interact much with it. She just stood there, wagging her tail and continuing to look at Cengiz.

Cengiz thought at first that the dog was hungry. She gave her a food bowl, which she ignored.

Huh, so she’s not hungry. What could she want?

“She was looking at me”… I said, ‘Baby, is there a problem?'” – said Cengiz

She got her answer soon enough when the dog lifted her paw onto her hand – almost like the “hand shake” training gesture.

Except this dog wasn’t trying to shake her hand.

After holding onto the dog’s paw for a while, Cengiz finally saw what it was trying to tell her.

The dog had an injured paw, and was asking her for help.

This good girl had the intuition to seek out help. What’s more, she figured out that a pharmacy was a place where she could get it.

Not wanting to keep her waiting, Cengiz got to treating the paw.

After some topical medicine, and maybe giving some medical advice, she was all good to go.

But she wasn’t going to leave without saying thank you.

She can’t pay for the service, so this is the least she could do.

She rolled over and let Cengiz rub her belly. What a smart girl!

Cengiz shared a video of the little encounter on Twitter, and it’s been liked by over 100,000 people.

She also added that she regrets not being able to take her in – a sentiment she feels for all the other dogs outside her store too. That’s just too many dogs for one pharmacist to take home, I’m afraid!

But she does care for them during work, and helps them get adopted.
