Apart from their playful nature, positive attitude, and their irresistible cuteness, there’s another trait which dogs are known for – loyalty.

I think most (if not everyone) of you would agree with me if I’ll say that dogs are the most loyal creatures on Earth. Not to discredit other home pets, it’s just that a dog’s loyalty is out of this world. They would stay beside you especially through the bad times when you need them the most.

This touching story is just one of the many proofs of dogs’ loyalty to their humans.

One night in Brazil, while Anderson Bahi was driving his way home, he accidentally witnessed a heartwarming scene on the road.

“I was passing in my car when I saw an ambulance stopped on the other side of the road,” he told The Dodo.

Turns out, that the person who was being carried inside the ambulance was a man who had suddenly fallen ill on the sidewalk while walking with his dog. As luck would have it, emergency responders were just nearby and were able to attend to the man.

What happened next was what shocked Bahi, shocked him in a positive way.

A loyal furry companion.

The medical responders finally boarded the man into the emergency mobile and they were ready to rush the patient to a nearby hospital. His loyal dog who at that time was adorable rocking a little red shirt decided to accompany his human, so she hopped onto the vehicle’s rear bumper.

She was not ready to abandon her human just yet, especially in such a condition. The loyal pooch didn’t let the responders just take her human without her, it’s as if she promised her owner she’d be there beside him in sickness and in health.

Bahi may have only witnessed a glimpse of that beautiful moment between the pup and her owner. However, it was 100% clear to his eyes and perhaps, to the eyes of many, that the dog adored her human so much.

“The love this dog has for her owner is something very special,” he said. “A faithful love.”

Tag team.

After seeing the dog’s loyalty, the medical personnel let the pooch come inside, there, they let the worried dog sit beside her human. The man was undeniably lucky to have such a caring and loyal dog who’d stick around during bad times.

Upon arriving at the hospital, they immediately rushed the man inside to be taken care of. The worried pup, on the other hand, decided to just patiently sit outside the waiting area hoping that it wouldn’t take long and that her human dad would soon be okay.

Maria Lúcia Muniz, an animal rescuer, learned about what happened to the man and his loyal dog. She volunteered to take the pup in for the night while waiting for her dad to be back. Thankfully, the worried pooch didn’t need to wait long because her owner was soon released in less than an hour.

“It was very emotional,” Muniz recalled. “But thank God, the owner was only hospitalized for 45 minutes. His family arrived to take him and his dog home.”

We are truly lucky that dogs exist.
