Kids can take drawing lessons on YouTube from best-selling children's author Mo Willems
Just weeks ago the world went upside down. Most schools have closed due to COVID-19 and that leaves many children at home with there families.
It sounds like a ray of sunshine until those kiddos need something to keep their minds growing and busy.
With no real date when schools will open back up, parents are left figuring out how to homeschool and that’s no walk in the park.
Teachers across the world have been video camming interactive lessons for kids to watch on their Ipads and Laptops. In these new- age times what’s a more brilliant idea than web learning for kids!?
Now, this idea shot a light bub out of best-selling author and illustrator Mo Willems, writer of “Don’t Let The Pidgeon Drive The Bus!” He decided to create a web series to inspire kids to use their imagination.
Every day at 1 o’clock EST Mo Willems is teaching kids of all ages how to draw on his YouTube Channel called Lunch Doodles.
This remarkable idea has families across the world sharing their drawings on social media. Lunch Doodles has been rippling into a huge audience and giving parents a sigh of relief as their children are enjoying learning!
During these very bizarre times, Mo Willems has brought some sunshine into households.
This epidemic has parents out of work or wondering if they still have their jobs, or even parents are working in the healthcare industry. These families are in panic while also trying not to alarm the kids. 300 million students across the world out of school and stuck at home, parents are left reading “How To Homeschool” books.
Thankfully there are brilliant teachers out there giving parents the sense of peace they deserve.
What better way to use technology than live stream a fun lesson for kids at home. Homeschooling is changing in marvelous ways and parents are even learning a thing or two! Mo Willems has brightened households in ways he can’t even see.
That sort of heroism is rewarded with plenty of hilarious and adorable drawings from students across the world.
Families all over have been sharing their doodles on social media, bringing people together while of course being at least 6 ft apart. Willems has created an interactive space where even the older siblings want to be involved! That kind of magic is one where parents might start sending thank you cards to the best-selling author.

Kids are thrilled to learn how to draw with the author of their favorite books! Giving parents plenty of time to relax. While parents are also grateful for the people creating innovative learning tools for their children. Mo Willems is an example of an outstanding artist who really does care. It just doesn’t end with the published books and awards, his legacy continues to grow.
