Man tears down wall to build his dog a personal luxury home
You don’t know love until a dog steals your heart.
This man had a closet underneath his staircase but it wasn’t exactly space he was using. So he decided to turn it into a personal room for his dog, Teddy. You have to see this.
Johnathan Lower from South Carolina spent more than $5,000 for his Golden Retriever‘s own home.
And by the look on Teddy’s face, this pooch is loving his own place. There’s a welcome mat where he can sit and welcome his guests with the most adorable expression on his face!
Lower installed a fireplace with a TV on top for those long, boring evenings. A mantel and a portrait of Teddy completes the homey feel, perfect for such a golden boy.
Teddy’s even got a custom bed!
Johnathan Lower is on TikTok as the @thehomeprojectguy. Go ahead and follow him. He’s the one with the profile picture of himself with Teddy. That handsome doggo.
What was once a closet in the Piedmont home is now a stunning little unit for a really good boy.
Teddy draws millions of views on social media so he really deserves this.
Lower took two weeks, working when he can as he is a real estate agent and it takes up a lot of his time. But he made time for Teddy’s nook, completing the outside entrance in one Saturday.
Teddy ignored his room at first but once he warmed up to the spot, he settled in nicely. Only took him a couple of months according to Lower.
Dogs, being animals with super sensitive hearing, can get agitated and scared of sudden noises so Johnathan made sure Teddy’s place was soundproof to avoid stressing his best bud.
Johnathan took off the drywall and put in a foam insulation to muffle outside noise. If Teddy gets scared of extremely loud noises, Lower joins him inside for some TV time together.
There is a doggy door and a door for Johnathan on the other side.
Sometimes, we wonder if a dog’s human is the owner of the house or if it’s the dog who has complete authority over the entire place. If you have a dog, you’ll know what that feels like.
Teddy is such a good dog that he would never bite anyone. Not to mention he’s a pretty awesome pup who makes sure to comfort Lower when he’s down or sad. Lower’s lost a sister, aunt, grandpa, a friend, then his dad.
Teddy was there for him all the time.
Lower makes sure Teddy visits family, goes on trips, and does all the things he loves, repaying his dog with as much love as he can. And boy does Teddy love ripping through toys.
Now Johnathan says Teddy isn’t a real cuddler but it doesn’t look that way. He just wants Johnathan to make the first move all the time. Considering he doesn’t pay rent.
