On an icy morning, Bob Barnard, a FOX 5 Washington DC news reporter gave everyone a live update about the weather condition in Leesburg, Virginia. He seemed to be having a fun time during his report, he was even asked by a resident to do ice scraping on an icy vehicle for $20.

However, his live report took an unexpected turn while he was showing everyone watching the weather condition in a certain neighborhood. A furry little creature ran towards him and crashed his report on live television!

An adorable puppy interrupted Barnard’s live weather report.

With its tail happily wagging, the pup invited the reporter to come and play with him to which Barnard gave in so easily. We can’t blame him, who could possibly resist such an invitation coming from a cute little creature?

The interrupted weather report quickly turned into a pet-finding portion when he picked up what looked like a lost pup. The little dog then started smooching and licking Barnard all over his face. Despite those sweet kisses, he wanted to figure out who the dog’s owner was or where it actually came from.

It was also a good thing that he was there to pick the dog up because the road was undeniably dangerous for a dog of that size.

A furry surprise on live television.

Not knowing where to start searching, Barnard continued bantering with his anchors in the studio. In fact, one of them jokingly said, “We have now expanded the business to Bob’s ice scraping and kennel service.”

Commended indeed was Barnard’s way of reporting, it was very upfront, light, and candid. He’s definitely a source of absolute happiness, something that you don’t normally get from field reporters who are doing live reports.

It’s time to look for the pup’s owner.

Thankfully, coming from the direction where the dog was originally seen was a young girl who appeared to be the pup’s owner. The owner immediately apologized for what her dog did, little did she know, the live weather report became a lot better because of the pup’s sudden interruption.

The young lady said her dog, “Pierogi”, escaped and jumped over their gate, and run straight out into the icy road. Barnard then handed over the pup to its owner and together, they went back to their house.

It was an unexpected encounter, but it’s surely going to be one of the most memorable moments that he’d have in his entire career as a reporter.

One of the people who saw the video online couldn’t help but commend Bob’s positive attitude, “Everything about this news guy is realism. This is the kind of news person I like, especially when they interact with people nicely, even when they’re interrupted. That was nice to see. The puppy made it that much more enjoyable.”

We couldn’t agree more with that, we need more jolly news reporters like him.
