Pippa, a 7-week old puppy that was rescued arrived at the Atlanta Humane Society in need of urgent care and a foster home.

Every rescued animal has a story but all of them have one thing in common – they all need love and care.

Early last year, Pippa, along with her parents and brother arrived at Atlanta Humane Society. They all needed urgent care but Pippa needed it the most.

She was just 7-weeks old and was very weak. She was hairless because of her sores, mange, and scabs. She was so young yet her condition was really bad.

The moment Amanda Harris saw little Pippa’s photo, she knew she had to help.

She immediately contacted the shelter and went there as soon as she can. Amanda wanted to help Pippa. She wanted to foster her.

The first time she saw the puppy, her heart ached. Pippa looked so fragile, and all she wanted was to feel loved. She knew it was now her duty to help this little girl to heal.

Amanda took the puppy home and spent hours a day treating her. Pippa’s wounds needed constant care, medicine, and she needed to have healthy food so she can recover.

Amanda didn’t expect that the fragile little Pippa could turn into a playful and fierce dog!

“She loves burrowing in blankets and cuddling more than anything in the world,” Amanda Harris told her interviewer from The Dodo. “There were moments where I’d peek in on her and wonder where she went, only to find her comfortably nestled under all her blankets. It’s super adorable.”

From being weak and sad, Pippa learned that she can count on Amanda when it comes to love and affection.

She loved it when Amanda cuddled her. It made her feel stronger and better.

In just a matter of days, her once sore skin healed. Weeks later, tiny hairs started to grow, the little dog that was so fragile started to show her “bright” personality.

After a few weeks, Pippa’s beautiful light cream fur grew!

“Her care included weekly medicated baths, medication to heal her skin and proper nutrition,” Amanda added in her interview. “Once she began to get proper care, her skin started healing remarkably quickly.”

Pippa recovered quickly!

As the little pup healed and got healthier, Pippa already started spreading joy and love to everyone! She may be a small dog but her personality is as big as a lion!

Little Pippa loved playing with Amanda’s two huge pitbulls. She didn’t even care if she was tiny! She was full of energy and life!

“She loved chasing their tails, cuddling with them and trying to hold her own in a game of tug-o-war,” Amanda happily recalls with The Dodo. “Also, I took her to work with me every single day in a little sling purse designed for carrying around small animals — she loved it and was always a big hit!”

Not long after her recovery, a family contacted the shelter and they wanted to adopt little Pippa.

“When I saw the pictures of her as she first arrived, I had to go see her,” Terri Dickson told The Dodo. “Once she was in my arms, it was all over for me. Best decision I have made in a long time. She is incredible.”

Terri instantly fell in love with Pippa!

From being a weak and sick puppy to a beautiful dog with a big personality, Pippa now lives a wonderful life that she deserves!

Terri and Pippa are inseparable and this puppy loves to rest on Terri’s shoulder. She loves the warm snuggles!

“She loves her family and we love her!” Dickson happily shared with The Dodo.
