There are just a handful of people on the world who have been blessed with the voice of an angel, and there’s not a single doubt that the Italian opera singer and songwriter Andrea Bocelli is one of them. Heavenly doesn’t even begin to describe his powerful voice and crisp timbre, and the musician has been universally praised for his talent by his peers and critics alike.

“If God would have had a singing voice, He must sound a lot like Andrea Bocelli”, Celine Dion, a musical legend in her own right, said once.

And there are plenty of other important people in the music industry who can’t praise the legendary singer enough. David Foster, for example, even says that Bocelli is synonymous with one of the most beautiful voices in the world. That’s definitely not something to take lightly coming from him, as Foster has produced for Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Christina Aguiler, Michael BublĂ© and plenty of others.

The opera singer has built up quite a reputation and discography and he has been passionate about music ever since he was little.

Did you know that Bocelli is actually blind? He was diagnosed with a rare medical condition back when he was twelve that caused him to lose his eyesight. Even though he lost one of his senses, he only needed his hearing to create absolutely stunning and classical masterpieces. At the age of fourteen years old, Andrea performed for the first time in a singing competition which he (unsurprisingly) won.

With no less than 15 albums and nine operas, Bocelli certainly hasn’t been keeping still the past years. And with more than 90 million worldwide record sales, there is simply no stopping the global phenomenon known as Andrea Bocelli.

Another fun fact is that Andrea Bocelli actually worked as a lawyer for a year before his musical career really started taking off.

He was a law student at the University of Pisa, but in order to pay for his education, he performed at piano bars after school hours. His nightly activities in musical bars started to gain more and more success, and he only worked as a lawyer for a year before he decided to make the switch to music full time.

Bocelli teamed up with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, which is well-known in the industry as well. With over 360 talented members and numerous instruments, this choir definitely knows how to fill up a room. The goal of the choir is to unite people through their music and they were founded in 1847.
