There are many videos and photos on social media that show that animals are smarter than we think. They always surprise us with amazing tricks that we never expected they can actually do. Among these animals that have been making rounds online are dogs and cats. Who wouldn’t love them, right?

Another animal that has been popular on social media lately are ducks.

There is this story where a duck bravely rescued a shoe after a boy accidentally dropped it. People are also falling in love with ducks with a cute tuft of feathers on top of their heads. Because of this, they look 18-century wig-wearing aristocrats.

There are more stories about ducks that will surely amaze you and touch your heart.

A mother duck loves to go back to the same spot every year. This place is a nursing home in Upstate New York. She does this with her beloved ducklings and because of their constant visits, their annual waddle has become a routine for the staff of the nursing home.

The ducks receive a warm welcome every time they visit MM Ewing Continuing Care Center. On the facility’s Facebook page, they share how they treat the ducklings in every visit.

“Every year, mama follows the same path. Facility Services associates – one of whom said “She has us trained” – have old signage to gently guide her and her babies in case they look like they’re about to get sidetracked. They head to the light from an open door at the end of the corridor.”

As she and her babies walk through the hallway, almost all the current residents make sure that they don’t miss seeing them. They watch and cheer them while they are wandering through the building.

Who would have thought that ducks can have such a cute routine?

It looks like the mother duck has become attached to the place that she is willing to go back every year bringing her ducklings. She also has this drill wherein she taps on the glass to inform the facility staff that she is about to go.

This peculiar routine of the ducks has gone viral on social media!

A nurse shared her sentiment about it. She knows how busy the people in the facility can get that’s why she is impressed by how they take time to accommodate the ducks. She wrote, “Too darn cute. She really trusts the humans there. As a nurse, I’m proud to see other staff stop their busy day long enough to show caring and respect to the mommy duck who trusts them.”

Another one expressed his appreciation for the staff.

It’s nice how this story has manifested how smart animals are. Of course, this also shows the kindness of humans. The way the staff treated the ducks will always be unforgettable.
