Anthony Hopkins and his cat are in quarantine – grab a piano to pass the time
Tragically, the deadly coronavirus COVID-19 has the entire world in its grasp. It looks like the only way to effectively combat the spread of the virus is by enforcing some strict measures, such as putting yourself in quarantine, practicing social distancing and basically letting the entire outside world go ‘on hold’.
By doing this, we can effectively “flatten the curve”, because the hospitals around the world simply wouldn’t be able to handle the influx of corona patients. With hundreds of thousands of confirmed cases, staying at home is our best shot at controlling and eventually beating the virus.
Plenty of celebrities have confirmed to be infected with COVID-19, such as actors Tom Hanks and Idris Elba. While Sir Anthony Hopkins doesn’t have any symptoms, he is staying at home in quarantine as it’s the right thing to do and more and more areas and countries are going in a (complete) lockdown.
Even though staying at home doesn’t particularly sound exciting, the famous actor definitely knows how to spend the days with his adorable cat.
Hopkins has an adorable housemate named Niblo, and we’re pretty sure that these two will never get bored with each other. Apparently, they also have a mutual agreement together. The 82-year-old actor, artist, and composer plays the piano for his feline friend, and in return, Niblo overwhelms him with love and affection and makes sure that he stays healthy.
“Niblo is making sure I stay healthy and demands I entertain him in exchange… cats 🤷🏼♂️,” Hopkins wrote on Twitter.
Niblo definitely has a serious look on his face and seems to be enjoying the piano performance very much!
These two now have a whole lot of time to spend together, and Niblo is a feline who just needs to be entertained once in a while.
It’s a good thing that his owner is a talented man!
Sir Anthony Hopkins’ resume definitely speaks for itself. The British actor has most recently portrayed a starring role in the HBO hit series Westworld, but he’s been active in the entertainment industry for a very long time. He probably is mostly known for his role as Hannibal Lector in The Silence of The Lambs, which is something that has even earned him a Best Actor Academy Award.
As for cats and music, it’s no secret that music has an effect on felines. In fact, did you know that cats can hear a much broader range of sounds than us humans? They also really prefer to hear ‘cat-music’, or sounds that are specifically tailored to their audible range. Classical music is another good option, and it looks like this piano session by Hopkins definitely manages to please Niblo in a similar way.
The tweet by Hopkins went viral and has already been seen over 3,7 million times!
With almost 50,000 retweets and 250,000 likes, Sir Anthony Hopkins most certainly warmed the hearts of many Twitter-users. Be sure to check out the adorable minute-long video of Hopkins and Niblo below.
