Man shows how to keep ants out of yard for good without using any chemicals

Humans should always get along with nature.

But ants are really making it difficult.

Ever had those moments where you are having a barbecue in your yard and just having a good time until a sharp stinging pain disturbs your fun?

As you look down, you realize it was already too late. Hiding under the grass and moving through the dirt are lines and lines of ants.

Next thing you know, your ankles are covered with them.

Ants are one of the most common insects in the world.

We know them as these tiny insects that get travel in long queues just to get to our sugar jars and other food items.

No matter how much we intrude or disrupt their operations, these insects don’t seem to run out of soldiers to send on ambitious kitchen expeditions.

There are a lot of ways to combat the problem but only a few are sustainable and chemical-free solutions.

Dominic from 3BricksHigher YouTube channel is here to help us out with one.

His description can catch anyone’s attention.

He described the natural method of getting rid of ants as “extremely effective” and “so safe a child could do it without getting bitten.”

Ain’t that good news for those who are just starting out with their outdoor skills?

He showed a patch in his garden that was full of ants. You can see them slide through the dirt, crawl under the grass, and just fill the area with their kin.

These dirt patches weren’t randomly chosen.

The ants choose the most favorable conditions for their larvae. According to Dominic, the ideal temperatures for ants are around 75 to 96 degrees Fahrenheit. Anything beyond this range can be unsuitable for the insects.

Since cooling down a place is much more difficult than heating it, Dominic opted to toast the colony.

The best thing about this natural method is that the components are already inside your house.

It takes two things.

The main goal of the project is to increase the ambient temperature of the ant patch. To do that, you’ll need a garbage bag and some weights.

You can use bottles filled water, bricks, or rocks.

Place the garbage bag over the patch and make sure it covers the entire area.

Put the weights on the corners of the cover. A black garbage bag is the best choice for this because the color conducts heat easily.

Can you imagine the heat?

Dominic shared that the ants never came back to the area. No need to spray chemicals in the soil or use insecticides that can be harmful to kids!

Other natural ways to deal with ants and insects are peppermint, tea tree oil, and pepper.

You can also use water and liquid soap, vinegar, or diatomaceous earth.

But then again, why would you when all you need is a garbage bag?
