There are few things funnier than watching a baby. Each new season of “baby” brings new and hilarious things for parents to record! When they are still newborns, they can’t do much more than make silly faces. Still, that doesn’t stop us from being enchanted by their gummy little smiles!

After the newborn stage, babies tend to get a bit mouthy!

By “mouthy,” we of course mean talkative. Can they actually talk? Of course not! They just spend hours babbling away at their parents, the wall, or nothing at all. It’s during this babbling stage that we get to witness some of the funniest things that babies do.

Part of that hilarity comes from a baby’s ability to mimic the sounds it hears.

Infants are natural imitators. That can cause some trouble when they start repeating things they hear their parents say! It can also lead to some little moments where they repeat something back, and the room erupts with laughter.

This baby’s aunt discovered that her niece was able to imitate her PERFECTLY!

During a family hangout, this auntie decided to “growl” at her niece. What nobody was expecting was the baby to growl back! Who knows? Maybe the family has a dog in the house and the baby had been practicing whenever it heard the dog growl. Regardless, it surprised the whole family when they got the response they did!

Thankfully, they were able to catch the entire thing on video!

Videoing babies is always a risk! You could just have 20 minutes of nothing, and as soon as you turn off the camera they say their first words! Thankfully, however, this family was able to catch the funny baby’s reaction when her aunt growled at her. The recorder of the video, most likely mom, says “Go” to her sister.

With the camera rolling, the aunt growled at the baby.

The response was immediate! Just like the adult, the baby scrunched up her face and let out a fierce growl! If you didn’t know any better, you might think that a cougar raised this little girl! It’s incredibly cute, going on for almost a minute.

Each time the baby growls, she seems to get more confident in her voice.

Over and over, she growled, getting fiercer and fiercer! Finally, her little growls turned into a roar! In classic Lion King fashion, the little one was able to find their roar after some practice. It seems that lions and humans alike all need to find their voice as little ones.

Apparently, growling babies are totally normal.

Sleepy Baby explains:

“A growl could be your baby’s first attempts at communication with you. Listen to your baby and have some fun trying to decipher what it is your baby is trying to communicate to you, A baby growl comes from his her throat, and while it may not be as common as a baby cry or even babble, it is not unheard of.”

Who doesn’t love a video like that, right? With over 5 million views, it looks like everyone does. Cute babies will ALWAYS be an internet sensation.
