The 'world's most awkward dog' meetup is hilariously adorable
Have you ever been to a party and felt like turning around and going straight back home?
That’s what this group of social-awkward doggos probably felt like doing when their humans dragged them to a furry meetup.
And just as expected, it was as hilariously cringy as it sounds.
This not-so-brilliantly executed plan to get a bunch of shy, introverted pups to smell some fresh new butts came at the recommendation of a dog psychologist, who presumably knew better.
Since doggies are social creatures, it’s important for their well-being to interact with each other.
But dogs, just like us, also have introverts among them who would rather die than meet someone new.
Meet Qila. Her silly human is the instigator of this entire mess.
With those sweet puppy eyes and that gold fashionista leash, you’d think this good gurl would be able to charm the pants off of anyone.

This puddin’ princess may look like an extroverted show dog when she’s posing for likes on her Insta, but it’s all a ruse.
Her Swedish owner believes Qila’s introversion is a result of her previous trauma.
The dogfluencer was rescued off the streets of Russia when she was pregnant, and it’s believed that her previous owner ditched her because she was going to have puppies.

Naturally, being in a new environment is a bit scary and stressful for her.
So when Qila found herself at the center of this special meet-and-greet with like-minded floofs…
…she retreated into her inner happy place and melted into the background like a total wallflower!
Which is totally relatable. Because who wants to sniff a bunch of strange bottoms anyways?
As for the other pups, we don’t know their story. But it’s obvious they would have rather stayed home in bed and cuddled.
Qila’s owner wrote, “[Most] of the time they were just chilling like this.”
As you can see, they all tried to desperately make eye contact with anything and everything except each other.
One of them even looked like he was about to crap himself from the sheer terror at having to make a new buddy!
Forced playdate or not, none of those doggos were having it.
They even took social distancing to a whole new level.

These dogs just awkwardly standing around is too adorable for words.
Even though it looked like there might be some hope for the canoodling pair in the background…
…it was a big NOPE!
As you’ll see in the video, they slipped right past each other like two trains passing in the night.
The whole point was to get them to learn how to “dog” around other dogs.
But none of them wanted to be the one to make the first move.
