Man beats baby nearly to death – but baby refuses to give up even when life support is removed

Some events are so awful, they’re hard to believe. When this baby’s uncle beat him, no one thought he would survive.

Bobby Webber was a healthy baby when he was born. His parents were over the moon. All that they wanted was to have a child whom they could raise well.

When the parents got married and left for their honeymoon, they thought that it would be fine to leave the baby with his aunt and uncle. They were wrong.

Andrew Nolan had seemed like a perfectly fine person up until then.

He had been a family friend of the Webbers for 12 years and had later started a long term relationship with Bobby’s aunt. But for some unknown reason, Andrew decided to horrifyingly beat his infant nephew.

It all started when Bobby’s aunt took Bobby’s older sister to the movies. While Bobby and Andrew were alone, Andrew started harming the boy.

By the time that Bobby’s aunt returned, Bobby had suffered skull fractures, shaking so violent that blood had pooled in his eye, fractured spinal vertebrae, bruised genitals and bite marks all over his body.

Bobby’s aunt was able to stop Andrew from attacking the baby and rushed the infant to the hospital. Pretty soon, the baby had to be hooked up to a life support machine.

Barry and Elise Webber, the baby’s parents, rushed home from their honeymoon. They were devastated when they saw their baby in such a terrible condition. But then it got worse.

The doctors told the parents that the baby stood almost no chance of survival. They recommended shutting off the baby’s life support machine.

The decision was the hardest thing that the parents had ever had to face. Eventually, they decided to follow the doctor’s recommendation. They told them to shut the life support machine off.

But contrary to the doctor’s expectations, Bobby kept on breathing. The baby didn’t pass away that day. Instead, he would eventually wake up.

It was a miracle, but the baby still had some irreversible damage. Even to this day, Bobby has traumatic brain damage, quadriplegic cerebral palsy and a complete lack of vision in one eye.

But over the years, Bobby was slowly able to gain more independence.

The baby grew into a high energy toddler. Eventually, Bobby became potty trained. He also initially had epilepsy, but this went into remission. For someone whom the doctors thought would not survive without life support, these are amazing achievements.

Andrew would later go to trial for his terrible crimes.

He pleaded guilty to harming the child in such a terrible way. Initially, the court only sentenced him to eight and a half years of prison. But after an appeal, this sentence was increased to 11 and a half years in prison. This sentence will not heal the damage that Andrew caused Bobby, however.

Bobby’s parents are so happy that their baby has been able to pull through. They are amazed that he has been able to do so many things that the doctors said were impossible.

“Absolutely everything that Bobby achieves blows my mind.” – Elise Webber.

Hopefully one day, thanks to medical science and Bobby’s resilience, the boy will be just like he was before the terrible incident. No matter what, Bobby is truly a miracle child.
